Hum
I normally type the word source, highlight it, the click the URL link button. But the last couple of days I have to, http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2009/03/29...y-Killings.html ^ List the whole long address.^ What's wrong with the button ?
Hum
The editing features are just not working as they did. When might this be fixed ?
+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted March 30, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted March 30, 2009 Which browser are you using? Inserting links to sources works fine here, both in Firefox (3.1 beta 3) and Safari (4.0 beta).
Hum
This is Firefox 3.0.7 -- is that the problem ? I think I tested with IE 7 as well. Just tried posting a story with IE 7 -- source/URL link button messed up again. :/ Edited March 30, 2009 by Hum
Fred Derf Veteran Posted March 30, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 30, 2009 Make sure that NoScript isn't blocking our scripts. Nevermind, you just tried MSIE7.
Hum
^ Yeah Fred. I allowed script in IE 7. I do not see any script setting in Firefox. Still wouldn't let me link to 'source'. It's sticking the word source in the middle of the URL link, and printing out the whole line. I noticed instead of just bolding the selected text, as before, it now shows [ b ]Text[ /b ]. This did not happen about 3 days ago. The body text looks somehow different too, in the Edit windows. I have no idea what it could be.
Mathachew Veteran Posted March 30, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 30, 2009 I don't believe anything has changed on our forum that would break that feature.
Hum
OK, Update: 'source' linking appears to work. It's just different in the Editing window. Odd, but nothing to worry about I guess. Case closed. ;)
Hum
^ Well, it is solved now, Hum. I was tinkering around Controls settings and discovered this: Either this was added recently or Firefox update changed it. All I needed to do is set it to Rich Text editing. I wondered why the edit windows looked and acted so different. All is as it was ...
