Needs Ideas for Logo's

Question

Would like some ideas for some new logo's. I am after 2 styles with one of them having several variations.

They are for 2 sites I am currently building, one being eangulus (Angulus = Latin for Corner) and it will be an Aussie Tech Site aimed at the hardcore and the beginner. The second is for yourgigguide and it is exaclty as the name applies. It will be aimed towards all walks of life from the very young to the very old. ANd it is not just people that go to gigs. It will be an event calender of sort listing Gigs, Shows, Comedy Acts, Festivals etc.

The Parent Site (ecs) will be the one that covers all the sites I have listed plus some others your?guide varients.

I need one to be just a logo for ecs so must include ecs in the image. I have a sample one here: http://www.eangulus.com/ecs.jpg

I need one to say eangulus.com like this one here: http://www.eangulus.com/eangulus.jpg

And another to say yourgigguide.com like: http://www.eangulus.com/yourgigguide.jpg

As you can see form the samples I have already done each logo ties itself with the ecs logo. I would like to keep that option unless there is a beter idea.

Also looking for something that is of professional style.

Any help or ideas are welcome and appreciated.

I think the logos as they stand aren't bad at all. If anything, I'd suggest some sort of effect added to the text itself. Here's a site that has a bunch of photoshop tutorials for making text look like steel, brushed metal, plastic, aqua-like, etc.

Lots of good stuff there. If you're not using photoshop, the ideas should transfer well to other programs as well.

THnkas for the suggestion.

Has anyone else got any ideas? Also would like something for just the ecs logo to be better. Not too sure what I can do with it.
