jonhapimp
You really can't believe that anyone from the US would vote 'no'? Maybe they're not answering you because they're scared of you. Or they don't want you to attack them for their view. Do you stand around polling stations asking people why they voted the way they did? there's a huge diff. between people replying and poll numbers. i for one support it, it's dangerous out here. there's nothing threatening about his post
+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted April 1, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 1, 2009 I don't attack others for their view but I do request that they explain it and allow a counter argument to be made. Are you afraid of me? tongue.gif But you are who you are and he is what he is. Ever see that movie with Segall "Above The Law" :)
Joel
You are not from The US and yest you posted in this topic. Count the votes vs posts. I didn't vote. I didn't argue his view. I didn't present my view. I stated a fact, because this has spilled over into S&FI now, and since I work for this site I am posting in this thread. Since I know I didn't vote and screw up the metal penis circle-jerk, what was your point? None. Another case of someone screaming rape because the big bad staff member posted. Dane
I carry daily, both openly and concealed. Glock 19 I am very happy with the Home Land Security Discount hahaha. Open Carry is legal in my state, so I never have to worry about that at all.

Treemonkeys
This poll/topic is meant for US citizens only. I do not want to turn this into the classic "guns are bad, mmkay" discussion which usually originates from those living outside the US.--- Those of you who follow me around the forums probably know by now that I am an avid gun supporter. As far as I am concerned, gun laws presently are too restrictive. I believe the general public should be as well armed as our military and will happily debate this subject with anybody who wishes to via private chat. However, that's not the point of this topic. Speaking specifically to US citizens, here is a question. Do you support concealed carry and open carry laws? Pretty straight forward and to the point. Please vote in the poll and clarify your answer in a reply. I personally support concealed carry and open carry laws. It's a fundamental right for me to protect myself and those around me in a worse-case scenario. I carry a Glock 32 .357 Magnum on my ankle at all times along with an extra magazine. I also pressure those around me to take the proper courses, acquire the government mandated permit (which I am strongly against), and to carry a gun as well. So what do you think? Please vote. I am looking forward to the responses. Also, if you presently conceal carry, please share. What gun, why, and all related info. =) It sounds like I agree 100% with you but I did not vote because I do not like the options. I believe that we all should have the right to either open carry or concealed carry, I just don't support the laws because I don't believe I should have to ask permission to do so. Center mass if needed. I was going for .40, however after reading the story of the police officer shooting a suspect over 10 times with .40 hollow point and the suspect didn't go down and still shot the police officer four times. Plus 9mm can be easier to find around here. Lately though, NO gun stores have ammo, its bull****.

Give me either a .357 or a .45 any day. I've been running into ammunition issues as well. It's Obama ... and his anti-gun rhetoric. Buy your ammo on-line. I've been doing that without problems. It's fairly cheap if you shop at the right places. I like buying in bulk. That's how I acquired my LE-only ammunition.
curme
Now I am absolutely positive of it. The UK people are manipulating the vote. They're not respecting the US only position of this poll. <very sad> :trout: I'm a fellow USAer and you made me LOL! Those ****ing UK people!!!!!! Always taking a ****! <sarcasm tag> Edited April 1, 2009 by curme

Joel
there's a huge diff. between people replying and poll numbers. Yes, but his argument is that no one's replying voted against his view. Where's the logic?
Dane
I was wrong about the number. The suspect was shot 22 times before he finally went down after shooting the police officer 4 times. Officer shoots perp 22 times, 17 hits center mass, with a 40 cal Glock loaded with ranger SXT's, and the perp (only slightly intoxicated ) lives until the hospital. Officer gets shot 4 times but he is saved by vest. http://www.lawofficer.com/news-and-article...A06A47B949pital There was another story from down south, a suspect was beating a police officer along side the road, repeatedly slamming his head into the ground while the officer was screaming for help while a group of people watched and did nothing to help. One person assisted and shot and killed the suspect. The suspects family is suing the officer and the good Samaritan for "excessive force". ~ Rogue ~
@ Mods: I don't want my topic locked. Can we stay on topic please? Back to the polling! :uberhump: @ Dane: 22 times, 17 center mass? Should have just shot the guy in the head. Wow. That's a major fail on the .40! Hopefully that lawsuit will be tossed out. Edit: Just read that link. That's pretty scary. Edited April 1, 2009 by ~ Rogue ~
jonhapimp
can you all reread the op because all it said was please don't vote in the poll not anything about posting so post away and @ joel he was saying that nobody is replying in the thread against it but there voting against it. NOT that it was against his logic
Dane
Come on guys, stick to the topic. All these threads any other time end badly because of the pro gun and anti gun go at it. Get along. @ Dane:22 times, 17 center mass? Should have just shot the guy in the head. Wow. That's a major fail on the .40! Hopefully that lawsuit will be tossed out. The officer did say once he figured out the guy wasn't going down he attempted to take head shots. For the other shooting, I am going to find the link to that as well. Bystander saves cop with gunfire - gets sued. http://www.theshootist.net/2009/01/one-man...d-perry_12.html
~ Rogue ~
Guys, keep my topic on topic. Please. I do not want it locked. --- @ Dane: The officer in question (from the first link) should have broken out the 12ga. Would've solved the problem. That is of course assuming he had access to one in his car. Reading the second story now.

halcyoncmdr
I support both concealed and open carry. I do not currently carry though, not old enough to carry handguns in AZ though, you gotta be 21; I'm turning 20 this year. Once it gets closer to my 21st though I'm going to start really looking around and deciding.

Around here, the locals have an AR 15 besides the shot gun, the shot gun is bean bag, the AR is always ready to go, in every car. Smart. That second link was a pretty good read. As far as I am concerned, it was justified. I would've done the same without hesitation. I support both concealed and open carry. Take some decent tactical classes, to.

+Gary7 Subscriber² Posted April 2, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 2, 2009 You've gotta be kidding me. Hell if I can access a page on the forums I have the right (yes "right") to post in it whether or not the poll is supposed to be "USA-centric" or not.Do you really expect everyone who votes yes, no or otherwise in the poll to voice their opinion in the forum?... Yes I do. The last poll that was for Canadians only I did not vote in. I had enough respect not to vote for something in a Country that I have no allegiance to. I wish that some of you people would show the same respect. The next poll I see that says Canadians only I will make my voice heard and my vote heard. You can take that to the bank.

I was responding to the above post. Non US citizens such as yourself should not even be posting in this poll. As I said the last Canadian poll that was out, I had the common courtesy not to vote in it. I just expect the same from others. I guess that is too much to ask. This poll concerns only US citizens. BTW: I was not the one that brought it up that people other than Americans were voting here. So I suggest that you take it up with them. The above post by shift basically says that if it is here I will post in it or vote in it. That is not only misleading and voids the poll but is also dishonest. All I am asking is that members here, specially Canadian members show some damn respect. If the OP says US only members should abide by it, if it says Canada only members should abide by it. The IPB software permits the voting to be shown by member and this feature should be made available. I do not vote in polls that do not concern me and I expect the same consideration from everyone else. Apparently that is too much to ask. To be honest./
