spenser.d
I think it's all really a wash and comes down moreso to what songs you want to play. I will put out there that my GH guitar had issues kinda from the start and degraded after about a month, but Activision's RMA system was very smooth and turnaround to getting a new guitar that worked perfectly (and still has no issues after a couple months) was about 9 days at no cost to me, so even if you do get something that's defective, they're cool about it. Career mode in GH is pretty long - I think you play through almost all of the songs in the game. Lots of DLC for both games as far as I'm aware. -Spenser
Ayepecks
Rock Band simply because I'd prefer to play what the original developers of these franchises would create.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted March 31, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 31, 2009 Really it comes down to your taste in music. So check the soundtracks of both games. Rock Band has the most DLC, however a lot of it is s*** (imo), think one of the latest packs had Sponge Bob. Yeah...speaks for itself :p Guitar Hero has the best hardware, however both have their flaws.
acnpt
I'd say GH:WT because the guitar also works on RockBand.
+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted March 31, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted March 31, 2009 GHWT hardware bundle then pickup a copy of RB2 solus.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted March 31, 2009 Veteran Share Posted March 31, 2009 I'd say GH:WT because the guitar also works on RockBand. Null point. The GH/RB hardware works on all of the games now. However, the slides don't work in RB, only GH.
Unimatrix Xero
thanks for the good replies guys, looks like i might pick up GH:WT
Lingwo
I'd say Rock Band is the best game but Guitar Hero has the best instruments. So perhaps try getting Guitar Hero instruments and the Rock Band game. I can't quite put my finger on it but playing Rock Band it feels like you're actually hitting the right notes and when you got four of you playing, there is nothing better. Also you have a much wider and better choice of DLC on Rock Band. Like today they released Journey - Don't Stop Believing!!!!
JoeC
GH - Better hardware, more fun on guitar/bass (thanks largely to hammer-ons being obvious) RB - More fun on drums/vocals Just my personal opinion :) Certainly the GH instruments beat the snot out of Harmonix's offerings. Josh
From somebody that owns both... I prefer Rock Band 2 gameplay, BUT I also prefer the GH:WT instruments. lol Go figure, right?
Spartan Erik
I own both, and I prefer GHWT by far. But then again I owned Rock Band way before GHWT, so something new is nice. I don't like GH's drum set, but then again I didn't need it because the Rock Band instruments work on GHWT
XanoZuke
GHWT hardware bundle then pickup a copy of RB2 solus. Totally agree. Buy the GHWT hardware, I like GHWT Drums better than RB's. GH for hardware, RB for songs (if you're willing to pay for download, of course :p).
Brad.
I always play with the GH guitar now, so I'd choose the GH hardware and all software  The rock band DLC has a great archive, despite the recent sh*t.
Unimatrix Xero
well i got the Guitar Hero WT with guitar today from game for ?59.99 and so far im enjoying it, not as good as GH3, but its still cool

Brad.
You better not be talking about Pearl Jam! :p The Pearl Jam is good, just not really my type, the songs that came with gh3/rb2 are awesome though :p I'm talking more about the deal with Nickleodeon to bring some songs like Spongebob Squarepants to Rock Band :/ Also all of the old music, no offence but it seems like Harmonix target the fans that can afford the DLC (older people), not only that but I was really pleased to see Last Resort (Papa roach) up there, only to be let down by the horrendous sound of the vocals. JoeC
If you ever move that idea on at all bmaher, hit me up :) 360, Guitar/Bass/Drums, and I'm always on it or RB2 :p
