Unimatrix Xero
I finally got round to buying Battlefield 2 this morning but it only goes upto 1280x1024, with the 1.41 patch does this game have a widescreen setting at all?
Snakehn
you have to edit the properties of the shortcut and put this: "+widescreen 1 +szx 2560 +szy 1600" Or Like this : C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted April 9, 2009 Veteran Share Posted April 9, 2009 The in-game graphics option won't allow any resolution beyond 1280x1024. However, there is a way to get widescreen resolutions. Simply right click the BF2 icon on your desktop and select properties. From there, add "+szx 1680 +szy 1050" to the target line (without quotations). You can set it to just about any resolution you'd like (e.g., +szx 1440 +szy 900). It should look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Blackhearted
The command line option is a poor implementation of widescreen however. Being basically the same FOV with the top and bottom rather cropped. To get much better widescreen i'd recommend using the command line thing along side of the app found here. And yes, you can use it online with the recommended version, pb wont kick you(i've used it myself).
Thirtythree
Last time I looked there weren't very many servers for BF2. It's quite a shame because when the game came out there were hundreds. EA even had quite a bit of their own servers hosted for people to play on. As soon as they were done patching the crap out of the game and took all the EA servers away there wasn't a real need to play the game. I've debated tossing the DVDs in the trash... GrimReeper
I always play on the same servers. I do occasionally go on a random server but I prefer playing in a full 64 player server. I can't wait for bf1943 :D
Thirtythree
i played online last night and i returned just nder 1,000 server, 973 if u wanna be picky lol How many of those are local to you? When I did a filter for Sharqi map it only found 2 ranked servers in the US. The rest were all in UK, Europe, etc. And, as I said, they are all controlled by clans now that dictate lame rules like no stealing opponent aircraft. It's just pathetic how many children play the game. All the whiners are why EA patched the game to death to appease everyone (grenade launchers, AA, etc). I'll never forget after one patch the AA missiles would behave erratically like just spinning in mid air. Also, try to find ranked servers for the booster packs Armored Fury and Euro Forces. Not going to find but a few. EA ruined the game horribly.

strekship
That surprises me. There used to be lots of ranked servers. I haven't played in a while but I can't believe its gone down hill that much. I used to like playing on the EA WC servers.
