Kids don't deserve an XBox 360

They're called paint buckets for a reason: to PAINT with!

You'd have to be a complete idiot to dunk anything electronic into a bucket of paint, much less take the garden hose to it, although that would do the job quite well.

Also the proper way to paint it would be to use spray paint in thin, light coats (with the covers off) anyways.

I have a feeling that the XBox would actually work in a bucket of paint because its the same as immersion oil. It dissipates the heat quite nicely. The problem though is when it dries :p

You know all of these are true and funny. Ive had many people come in complaining about "o my xbox is broken becuase blah blah blah" and wow its just funny.

But theres one thing that i didnt know, the flicking the cd tray. Thanks for the post Titoist, my friends 05 console just came back to life haha.

We never opened it. I was going to but he bought a new arcade, now we have a working 05 console. YES! Entertainment system ftw!

Hey!

I am 17, but I don't consider myself that big a fool.

The age doesn't matter, some people are just that ignorant and adventurous to begin with.

Maybe they should read manuals more often instead of relegating it to the dustbin.

You are all welcome to the cd-tray fix. That was my own little contribution. My XBox did that and I was like "damn" and hit the table. The cd-tray opened and I was like..."wait a minute"... closed it, flicked it and it opened. I was like "Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss...sss" (The Producers reference) :p.

Wow, just wow.

Some people shouldn't be allowed any electronics

I agree there. I don't think it's an age thing either. Some people are just too stupid to take care of them properly, even though they spent hundreds of dollars on them -_-.

#7: Failed cleaning. A kid had their XBox so dusty that they thought it would be a bright idea to wash it with a waterhose.

#8: Failed customizing. A customer came in saying that they tried to paint the cover of their xbox, so to make it look even everywhere, they dipped the entire XBox into a paint bucket.

LMAO - retards

Some people shouldn't be allowed electronics at all.

#'s 3,4,5 and 6 were done by people over the age of 18 with #6 being common with people ages 21-23.

And you're 23.

While I disagree with the arbitrary age, it's still funny

lol... yeah im 23 but the list still proves that even at 23 some people are very stupid. Hell, even in their 30's and 40's people are retarded (Trailer Park Boys) :p

My friend recently opened his own business fixing consoles and after a year in the business he has come to a conclusion. People under the age of 23 DO NOT deserve an XBox 360. The majority of consoles that came in had an RROD failure. While he is happy to get the business, he was saddend at the reasons why these people do not send their consoles in to Microsoft for repair. So here is his list of reasons of how people void warranties.

#1: For some odd reason, people remove the serial number sticker from the back of the console

#2: Serial number has been rubbed off through wear and tear. (Makes you wonder why these people are carrying their consoles so often that their serial number fades away)

#3: CD gets stuck in tray. User proceeds by breaking open the XBox voiding warranty. (The solution to this is fairly easy actually. If it gets stuck, dont do anything. Just carefully "flick" the tray with your finger and it will open).

#4: User keeps the XBox in an enclosed space. 20% of consoles that came in, including a few PS3's had melted covers.

#5: Smashed XBox's... yeah thats right. Some people while gaming use them as foot stools, others throw their XBox's around like the angry german kid when gaming.

#6: Failed modding. They attempted to mod their XBox but soldered in the wrong place or the wrong part.

I still laugh at the kids that break those expensive HDTVs while using a Wii.

It's a good thing I just turned 23 this week ;)

As for the list, that's some pretty crazy stuff. The XBox in the paint bucket is my personal favorite. I sincerely hope that the kid wasn't surprised upon realizing that his machine was wrecked.

P.S. Thanks for the heads up on the flicking trick. I never knew about that. :)

Washing most electronics in water actually isn't what will kill them. Its turning them on afterwards if they are not absolutely, thouroughly dry!

#1 weird, I'm sure some of them are stolen consoles

#2 ever hear of a LAN party, some highschoolers do them all the time, nothing wrong with being more social about gaming even if it is harder on your console

#3 some people just get frustrated

#4 all sorts of people do that, I would bet more adults do it in favor of have a clean appearance than kids

#5 that can happen from all sorts of things, but only german kids are angry? really?

#6 soldering takes practice and mistakes are to be expected when you are learning, nothing wrong with trying to learn, especially if you can afford to pay for repairs

#7 really stupid but understandable if a kid did it, sounds like he needs to learn some electronics basics

#8 hard to believe but also really stupid

What's worse than everything you listed is people who make fun of what their customers do to give them business, that is stupid. If all these "kids" didn't have consoles, his business would go way down, brilliant.

Although I do agree that kids don't deserve an XBox 360, but you're referring to people under the age of 23?! They are not kids anymore. Your title is a bit misleading. Nice post though.

This happened to my friend and we have no idea how. His xbox sits next to a TV all day. His 360 RROD'd and we called MS, luckily they told us there is a second serial under the faceplate.

To understand the angry german kid reference, you have to watch the video. What I mean by the "angry german kid" is that some people are playing games and they get killed or something for example, they will take their frustrations out on the xbox by kicking it, punching it, or dropping it.
