MasterC
I would say a month or so...basing that on hunch. I'm going to guess sooner than that based off of how fast the builds are moving. I'd give it two weeks.
what
Like I asked on IRC last night, is anyone having any real issues with 10.5.6? Why the rush for a pointless update?

MasterC
Like I asked on IRC last night, is anyone having any real issues with 10.5.6? Why the rush for a pointless update? Ever since I installed the Safari beta (yes, I know it's a beta :p ) Mail hasn't worked. It stalls on getting messages. Now, I don't know whether it's due to the beta or it's just a coincidence. But I'm hoping that in the update they have a new version of Safari or Mail so I can rule either one out.

MacAndy74
OS X 10.5.6 has been rock solid on my old iMac G4 here. But, if Apple roll up Safari 4 Final into 10.5.7 (Y)
+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted April 16, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 16, 2009 I think it will land very soon. As early as today perhaps.
PyX
Not sure how it can get any more stable tbh. Well... it can. I noticed a few crashes (if we can call it so) here and there, but nothing serious. There's also a few other tidbits to fix, nothing serious once again. I'd say give this thing a week before it's out. They need to roll out maybe a new beta of Safari 4 or they need to fix 10.5.7 for Safari 4 beta and it's out.

+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted April 24, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 24, 2009 Hm. The Xquartz project released X11.pkg version 2.3.3 yesterday. Quote from the release notes: Important NoticesOS-X Requirements OS-X 10.5.7 or later is required to install this package. Could this mean that a release of 10.5.7 is imminent after all? PyX
Well since the Radeon 4870 has been delayed, they can now delay 10.5.7 furthermore. But it could mean nothing.
PNWDweller
Just checked on my end here in the PDT time zone, no updates as of yet. So, Monday as Cabron suggested is looking to be a "Not yet" thing. :) And no, I don't check all the time, just when I am reminded of this thread as scrolling down through the forum listings.

cabron
Well according to an Apple insider Blog about 10.5.7, it has been released internally to Apple employees, which mean the public release will be in this week.
