If you have any virtual CD drives you have to disable them.

I'm an SP2 tester and I work for an OEM. There was no such announcement ever made. Whoever made the announcement was a jokester trying to mess with people.

just change the 5 to a 4 then, that should revert it back. i read it backwards the first time too. :blush:

Yeah when i posted it was what was posted in the Windows Update 5 newsgroup and the announcement is still there.

Please download and install the new build as soon as possible after it is

The build may be installed on Windows XP RTM, SP1, SP2 RC1 build 2082, or

SP2 RC2 build 2149. Installing the new SP2 build onto any other SP2 build is

not supported.

To my understanding, there will not be another "surprise" version.. the next version to be released will be the final build!

Will limited user accounts be able to have automatic updates run? It doesn?t currently allow this under SP1, which is kind of ironic.

I dont think it will under sp2 with a limited account i just tried it and i couldnt see the autoupdates tab but i can under a computer admin account.
