Or you can't fathom to carry an unbiased conversation, every single post reeks of that naughty word and you are willing to change arguments just to not go against Sony, how is one supposed to argue with that? You change your argument every fifth minute so it always sounds like "you are right".

Broken down

I dislike exclusive DLC for multiplatform games, and timed exclusivity if it's caused by anything other than technical issues. Although "timed" exclusivity I can live with more as in 90% of cases you still get the game. I don't like things that interfere with games always planned to be multiplatform, if that's the plan follow it and make the bloody game available to everyone, and everything tied to the game. Never before have we had a generation with two consoles that are as equal to port between, savour that. It wasn't like that with the PS2/Xbox, where there was a sizeable technical leap.

I see no issue with developing internal studios, it's natural and it doesn't do anything to stop multiplatform games getting to gamers unless you go and buyout a studio who's just released "metacritic scoring 94 awesome game 1" which had a sequel planned, which has now gone exclusive due to the buyout. Kind of like if MS or Sony went after Take 2 with EA, you could definitely of said bye bye to GTA5 being multiplatform. Unlike if EA bought them, you'd have GTA5 on your toaster.

MS can go start developing more internal studios tomorrow and you won't hear a peep of bad mouthing from me, I've already said I think it's a better idea than throwing 50 million at GTA4 DLC.

You guys started the claims of Sony buying out studios stopping you from playing games, all I did was list how every studio was developed and ponder the question of what games exactly got taken away from you? Most of the studios were developed from the ground up/very early devs or studios acquired with very little backlog in terms of releases. Seeing as that is the case the franchises they went onto create will have been heavily influenced by Sony themselves, as opposed to Sony just buying an already great idea.

And no argument is right, it's an opinion. In the GH the only thing I can be right about is release dates/prices of games/scores of games/etc. Things that are factual. Stances on DLC/exclusivity/etc are opinion based on the whole, so I just admitted I'm not trying to be right, go wild.

I enjoyed the discussions today until they went sour with people cracking the jokes and sarcasm. Chill out folks, these are heated debates but thats all they are. It's a fun part of a discussion board, don't try to walk away feeling a "winner", just talk till you're satisfied, everyone who takes part is a winner, our post count gets closer to reaching Rappy ;) Without a little bit of excitement things would be monotonous, but it's just a frickin discussion on DLC and exclusivity, not a discussion about how to provide world peace.

And yeah okay we've gone off topic, but GTA5 isn't coming anyway, for now :p

I'm sure I read somewhere that the PS3 has exclusive DLC for Bioshock  Just to swing things the other way.

The ones who really got shafted on GTA IV DLCs were the PC gamers. PS3 users at least have an idea of why they aren't getting the DLCs but the PC users are left in limbo. Games For Windows Live is Microsoft yet they don't get anything? That's messed up. Bethesda signed the same deal as Rockstar yet they were able to make their Fallout 3 DLCs available on both 360 and PC.

So far MS have been doing it with Fallout 3 and GTA4, I hope Sony doesn't as it will **** off 360 owners. Spend your cash on 1st party titles or studios please MS/Sony/Nintendo (Y) Or fund a full title as an exclusive, not parts of it.

Was fallout 3 paid DLC, or was that just BethSoft's decision, since it does appear on GFWL as well.

They did do it, however, for Tomb Raider, ****ed off a LOT of Playstation and PC fans, put out an incomplete and buggy game, and sold like 200,000 copies combined (which is **** for TR series).

I'm sure I read somewhere that the PS3 has exclusive DLC for Bioshock  Just to swing things the other way.

Because the game came a year later to PS3. I don't know how many XBox or PC gamers would have bought the DLC long after having put the game down, tho I do know some big Bioshock fans who bought the game again for PS3 after already having it on another platform.

i think vegas would be too small.

The small size would make it ideal for thousands of missions dealing within Casinos and stuff.

It'd allow them to focus on both the outside and inside environments.

Imagine a very small setting, with everything (slots, card tables, prostitutes, pool tables, etc) being able to be used.. now imagine Vegas' Bellagio, Luxor, and other Hotels in game:

Sin City is practically begging for the GTA treatment.

Um, Las Venturas?

Well.. bring it back, into the modernized engine and make it so you can go into places and actually make it look like Vegas!

I like the idea. If it was Vegas themed, the characters would be awesome.

Could you imagine having a hustler, with promiscuous women, gambling around. I think a main antagonist would be police or something. This game would bring talk like no other.

kind of like Liberty City is in the original GTA, GTA3 and GTA4 ? except its portrayed in a different way....

and besides, San Andreas is kind of based on Nevada and Liberty City is kind of based on New York .... so i think its appropriate for Las Vegas to be represented again in the current GTA generation, but with the smaller-scale treatment that GTA4 got... so instead of an entire state, it would be a specific city within that state, and what better city to use than Las Vegas?

I know, but his post made it seem like Vegas had never been done.

I still wanna see a modern Carcer City.

I didn't mean "never been done", I just meant never been done properly.. at least, properly the way I see it..

  • 1 year later...

I wanna see things you can purchase come back like safe houses, car mods, and bring back businesses that make money for you, maybe even fighting over territories again and bring the gyms back. That made the game much more interesting IMO.. GTA4 I had money and didn't know what to do with it except drink and goto the strip club... but that wasn't all that fun..

Yeh, thats not a bad idea. More purchasing power to influence stuff around you.

Although the game, (most people might have already mentioned this), is more likely Agent.

This. Also if you could collect gang members and fight other gangs, either offline or online would be great. Also maybe small events which happen (EX. Gang attacks a bar, then it is reported on the news and also people gossip)
