warningdown
i have a yamaha RX-463 which comes with 5.1 surround sound outputs. my computer and tv are hooked up to the unit but they are on different sides of the room Is it possible or safe to connect the FRONT SPEAKER B outputs to the SURROUND SPEAKER outputs so that when i switch to go on my computer my surround speakers can act as full front 2.1 speakers. goji
If I understand correctly, outputs to outputs gets you nowhere. Where is your source? What is stopping you from plugging both inputs into your receiver now?
shakey_snake
It looks like your have 7.1 outputs and a single 5.1 input. Is it possible or safe to connect the FRONT SPEAKER B outputs to the SURROUND SPEAKER outputs so that when i switch to go on my computer my surround speakers can act as full front 2.1 speakers.Yeah I'd guess it's "possible", but them your back channels from the "MULTI CH INPUT" or HDMI wouldn't be correct. If you are not using the "MULI CH INPUT", plug your computer into that one and use the back inputs instead of the front. ;) Edited April 24, 2009 by shakey_snake
