WhoTheF
Hello guys: I was wondering what CMS does Neowin use. I think I have a concept that is kind of similar to what we have here - user signs up - submits news to a certain category and it gets approved. With this being said, a user can also blog if he/she wished. What I was thinking was a little different - where people can just go ahead and submit whatever they want and it shows up on the front page, but into a certian category. I like the whole Neowin setup and so I was wondering what CMS they use. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

AdzzzUK
It doesn't. Check https://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=credits for the hardware and software used here...

PNWDweller
If I am not mistaken, they have said they use a very highly modified CMS along with a very highly modified IPB to do what they do here. Did a quick look in the announcements section but didn't see anything just yet, but a good read especially when they were talking about the site going done due to lots of users online at once (less than 1k) at the time in 2001. Ahhh..those were the days when software wasn't ready for such a thing.
RadishTM Veteran Posted April 20, 2009 Veteran Share Posted April 20, 2009 Think it went into it's own after VirtuaNews. Radish?
WhoTheF
i think ive read some where on here that its custom built. I really hope you're wrong because that'd be a bummer unless there's a similar cms out there.
DaveLegg Developer Posted April 20, 2009 Developer Share Posted April 20, 2009 The front page is 100% custom, developed in house, the forums run on IPB, heavily modified to do what we want it do.

WhoTheF
Not exactly, unless you have heard of any extensions that work really well.
