Quick Rock Band DLC Question

Recommended Posts

Just a quick question, I got Rock Band for the 360 for ?10 from HMV t'other day, if I buy DLC songs I can use those with Rock Band 2 if that ever comes down in price right? And isn't there a thing where you can play all the RB1 songs on RB2?

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

Cheers, and nice sig/ava :p

Any ideas on the other point. I heard you come somehow swap RB1 game disc songs onto RB2, is that true... or would I just have to swap discs. I heard there was a special code or something.

EDIT:

I just found it online actually, sorry. You buy a code for 400 MS Points and it transfers songs to your HDD, you then don't need the RB1 disc and can play RB1 songs through RB2 disc.

Surely this means that if you buy RB2, and then rent RB1, you can pretty much get RB1 for the rental fee and 400 MS Points?! Crazy!

All the Rock Band 1 DLC is fully compatible with Rock Band 2 so you don't need to do anything special to "import" them over, just put in the Rock Band 2 disc and all your Rock Band 1 DLC will show up in your song list. To get the Rock Band 1 songs onto your hard drive so you can play them in Rock Band 2 you need to download a special export code from Xbox Live for $5 and then go to the Export Songs function in the Rock Band 1 options and wait for it to copy.

And after you've imported the songs to HDD, you don't need the RB1 disc anymore, so I could just sell it?

I did a 10-day free trial at Gamefly to rent RB1 so all I had to pay was the 400 MS points (then I cancelled Gamefly).

Yeah that's right :p

All DLC is cross compatible between RB1 and RB2 which is awesome, never spent the 400msp to transfer the songs though :p

That's so awesome!

I kinda wish I hadn't bought RB1 for a tenner now, still, I should get my money back on eBay if I sold it. just need a cheap RB2 now!

I already have the GHWT Guitar, so no need for another instrument. Does RB2 do the... slidey bar type waaaah effect thing that WT does?

No it doesn't, the touch pad is redundant for Rock Band 1&2 which is a shame.

Awww... sad panda :(

Sorry to ask yet another question, but is RB2 region locked? I can't buy a NTSC version to play on my PAL 360?

As far as I can tell, the US (NTSC-U) version of Rock Band 2 is region locked. Don't forget it's published by EA!

The cheapest place I've seen RB2 in the UK is ASDA (currently ?29)

Yeah it's region locked which is another bummer! Guitar hero's always been region free so it can be easily imported. The wait between the US release of RB2 and the UK release was sooooo lame. Maybe the UK release of Guitar Hero Metallica and Rock Band: Beatles (due septemper iirc) will lower the price of RB2?
