well if your creating it with FrontPage or DreamWeaver i do believe there is an option there to tell you how long it will take over a ~28.8 modem - in the bottom corner in FrontPage cant remember in Dreamweaver...

Well how fast it will download (load right?) would depend on how fast it is being served up, and on how fast it can be downloaded, etc.. etc..

Take the total size of the page(s) with images (due a prop on the parent folder) and then do the math.

Anything more than about 8 seconds and you will start loosing people - who just can not wait that long ;)

no its not too much.. only ones in trouble will be 56kers, but then again, theyre used to everything going slow, so..... :p you shouldnt care about them anyway.. hehe.. and everything from a slower broadband and upwards will devour those 120kb in seconds.. so its definitelly not much

Image Preloader (v1.0): Image Preloader will automatically download the images you specify into the visitor's web browser. This script is quite useful for graphic intensive websites or for websites where download times may be slow. The script can be incorporated into any page, including a website load page. 2.33 KB

Might be helpful for your website.
