matthewmarley
Hi Guys Ok, well I am trying to connect my laptop using 7100 to my Vista Ultiamte desktop, however it just wont connect. When I open remote desktop on Win7 I put in my username which is matthew and the password of my desktop, but it just fails to connect. But when I do the same on the Vista desktop and put in my laptop username and password I can connect without a problem. I have Remote Desktop activated on both devices so I am not sure why this could be. Anyone got any suggestions ?

BeerFan
Have you tried entering the username as "computername/username"? That may help, especially if you have the same username on both PC's.
jasondefaoite
Can you ping each machine from the other one? Could be a firewall issue.
Baigley
Could be a firewall issue like jasondefaoite said. Try pinging the machine. Osuwildlifer has a good suggestion with the computer name first as well. May need to be "\" though. computername\username You said that remote desktop is enabled, but make sure its set to accept from any versions. There are 3 options under remote desktop, set it to the one in the middle which is stated as "less secure" I assume that you are using the same username that has permissions granted to the computer you are connecting to.
