Guest xiphi
It took me reinstalling Vista to realize what areas 7 was fast in. Search is now literally instant, when on Vista it would take a few seconds most of the time to display the results, the CP opens instantly, along with Computer (would take a few seconds on Vista especially with a cd in the drive). When actually using the programs the speed isn't that different, but I can say that 7 brings an overall smoother experience. It wasn't the speed that won me over, though. :)

Every one of those opens as soon as I click on them in Vista. :) I spent all weekend switching back and forth, and the only time difference I see is in dragging things from one explorer window to another, and that takes longer on Windows 7 due to the new taskbar. Drag to taskbar, drag to window preview, wait for window to pop to front, drag to window. Drag to taskbar, drag to window in Vista is much faster. DigitalE
To be fair Windows 7 is faster than Vista in most aspects so the OP would of discovered it eventually ;) Though he did discover it by an interesting method. :p "would of"?

iamwhoiam
No Apps would use 24gb lol Run a lot of VMs, do multiple video encodes, animation and 3D modeling, etc., and you'll see just how quickly that RAM gets used.
