Penryn
About over 20 mins on a standard SATA II HHD. Was a bit over 15 mins on previous build. :D
Gary2MBz
Installing 7100 x64 took no more than 8 minutes off my DataTraveler 16GB including the reboot to finish it off thanks to my Scorpio Black. On my desktop, it took 12 minutes. I have even slipped in my Vista images into the install.wim and they all work using the 7 installer. They all use the image based install so I see no reason why it shouldn't work :D
Shaun N.
i installed from flash drive. was 5-10 min from booting from it? this is what i used to install it. very easy commands. All done by command promt, and only take a minute or so to get ready. VERY EASY http://www.thinkcomputers.org/index.php?x=...cles&id=117 I found this website just the other day and tried to follow it, i only got stopped in my tracks when the command "list disk" wasnt listing my USB drive. cornel001
If you install a utility like Virtual CloneDrive you can just double-click an ISO and it will show up as a DVD/Bluray drive in Explorer, just as if it had been a physical disk. It can only be used from inside Windows though, you can't boot from it. Not an issue when you're installing Windows that way as it will copy all the installation files over before rebooting. So does this mean I can upgrade from Vista to 7 RC (i.e. not installing on another partition) from a virtual DVD ? I found this website just the other day and tried to follow it, i only got stopped in my tracks when the command "list disk" wasnt listing my USB drive. I remember I had a similar problem with a command when copying instructions from such a page, and discovered that the correct command was another one, but dont remember exactly how about which one. CeNoEviL
Kicked of rebuids of my laptop and pc at the same time - laptop via usb key, pc via dvd. Laptop 20 minutes to desktop. Pc just over 30 minutes. Then the easy transfer on the pc took for ages! But it worked a charm, good tool that is!

dcoaster
Surprisingly, it took 11 minutes using VMWare. This was from the second I pressed *Next* that started copying/expanding to the input of your PCs information after the final reboot. Pretty impressive.
