Use a hacked version of PowerDVD8 which includes HD-DVD Support and you can play HD-DVD?s or Blue-rays fine in Windows 7 Build 7100

i have licences for pdvd 7 and 8 they both suck and cyberlink support is useless, i always found 8 with the hddvd patch to be very unreliable but alot of people use it so it must work for some people.

what you could do is use a trial version of anydvdhd (each ones valid for 21 days so start with an older version) and mpc-hc, menus wont work but you will be able to play the actual movies just fine. you might need a recent ffdshow tryout as well to decode the audio used on hddvd/bluray

@InsaneNutter

You are running an ATI Card?

My Powerdvd don't work and it says some driver error. I got a NVIDIA.

I think the nvidia owner can't get powerdvd running.

SO who should we blame? Nvidia or Cyberlink?

Same problem here. I'm running Windows 7 RC Build 7100. I have a Dell XPS 420 that came with a Blu-ray drive. I can't find a name of a known manufacturer on it. It also came with a copy of PowerDVD DX. I updated it to version 8.2.5202. I also have an nVidia card, a GeForce 9800 GTX, with the latest drivers from nVidia's website (8.15.11.8585).

I'm wondering if the problem is with an incompatibility with nVidia drivers...

Hopefully Cyberlink pulls through soon and gives us a fix, or nVidia.

Just wondering if anyone tried this in build 7201 yet?

yeah. It doesn't work either.

I think it worked for me in 7100, but when i installed 7201, it didn't work.
