JosePR
What i can think of is you don't have the compatible drivers installed , have you tried formatting and installing again? what display are you using and how is it connected?
Zelete
Have you unplugged any other screens? Sometimes Windows 7 discovers more than one screen and sets the default screen wrong. There is probably a dialog of some kind on another screen :)
MrChuang
I had the exact same problem. I have two monitors hooked up, one being my 32" LCD tv and my 22" Monitor. It found my LCD TV as the main display (even when it was not turned on) and the 22" as my secondary and all it had was a black screen with the build tag in the bottom right corner. So basically I just turned on the TV and changed it, simple as that.
RubberNutz
Thanks everyone, installing with only 1 monitor connected did the trick.
radio.one
Hi there. I know I am reasonably new here, but I am so glad I decided to search this forum. I downloaded 7100 over the weekend and threw it on my 4GB key drive (made bootable). I am running Windows Vista x64 Ultimate. I tried several upgrade installs yesterday, and got the black screen with the evalulation stamp on the lower right corner. I got so frustrated that I decided to try a new install and got the same issue. I did save my documents, pics, downloads and stuff on different drive before I started all this. Unfortunately Vista or 7 messed that up... Because when the fresh installs did the same thing, I just reinstalled Vista x64. So, now after 10 hrs of hell and some sleep. I came here this morning at work, and found this thread. I would have never guessed an alternate display, because I do have my HDTV hooked via HDMI to my ATI 3850. Has anyone else had this issue? Should I try another update install w/o my HDTV connected? Thanks.
Piggy
Yes the others in this thread had a similar issue. Just unplug your other display when you install Win7.
radio.one
Yes the others in this thread had a similar issue. Just unplug your other display when you install Win7. I did that, and it helped but I have a new set of issues. I'll start another thread for that.
