"Report a problem" - No thank you?

Recommended Posts

Hey

Sites such as Mess.be give credit when a problem is reported or something similar. Maybe Neowin should also do this.

In concrete, Im talking about the Vista SP2 RTM news where I as many others reported the problem and no Credit to....

Why should you get credit? Firstly, you don't even know if they already knew about it before you even mentioned anything, and just hadn't had time to correct it. Second, as you said you and many others reported the problem, if they give credit to one person the other people who reported the same problem may complain.

I come to this site to see news, I don't need to see a list of peoples names who noticed an incorrect digit in an article.

When you report a thread in IPB, a PM (personal message) gets sent to all the staff with a link to the thread in question, along with your personal note. (by default. it can be changed though) All the staff can do is just say a simple "thank you"

You don't really need credit. The Simple "thank you" is good enough.

If it's credit you're after, then I'd probably suggest you just... not 'Report a Problem' anymore.

Edit - Oh, if you decide not to report anymore problems, could you please credit me each time you choose not to report? Thaaaanks!! :)

That's not how it works here, we have a custom reporting system, so it's not as simple as pressing reply.
