HilariousNinja
Any specific platform mate? If you have a DS definitely get Mario Kart DS, it rocks.
Chris-Gonzales
Any mario game will be great (for any age) but you will be stuck with nintendo, but nintendo is great for kids
deletedxyz
Left 4 Dead. Just kidding. If you want to get your brother into gaming, then I suggest getting him a handheld such as the Ninentdo DS and letting him play Pokemon, Mario Kart, Brain Age, etc.
Olemus
Well as this is posted in computer gaming I would assume PC, Any of the lego games would be good for a small kid.

Chris-Gonzales
Alright then. Any learning games will be the ideal choice. He can learn something, while at the same time having fun. I don't have any suggestions at the top of my head right now, but I'm sure someone will figure out something.

The other alternative is the Tycoon series such as Rollercoaster Tycoon or Zoo Tycoon. If you want platformers, you have to get a PS2 or Nintendo DS. +Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted April 29, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted April 29, 2009 You could try Freerealms, just launched yesterday, it's free to play for the most part. It's an MMO targeted at kids, but I've even been playing it and it's fun :D
ncoday
How about soccer, baseball, football, cub scouts? Young children need to be outside playing sports, socializing. Not sitting in front of a TV/PC playing video games

It's still worthwhile, quite a bit of fun to be had. "Restricted" is an awfully harsh term to use considering the amount of free content.

RPDL
Kids aren't very critical of video games. Don't be afraid to just download a casual game or get a real old one from the bargain bin. I played some awful games and I thought they were good: most significantly, I couldn't tell whether or not plot or voice acting was good or terrible. I didn't know what a good (or modern) game was: I didn't notice that Half-Life was more modern than Doom. Edit: Don't spoil him with expensive, cutting edge games. Commander Keen or Army Men games, should be more than satisfying for him.

I am Redbeard
Not to mention he is seven years old and should be learning while his brain is still hungry for knowledge. You're doing him a disfavor by getting him games for the computer.

svnO.o
PC Games: Burnout Paradise (car racing), Need for Speed Series (car racing), PURE (atv racing), Spore (simulation), World of Goo (puzzle), Kung Fu Panda (action adventure), Team Fortress 2 (shooter) If you know anything about emulation I'd recommend using a super nintendo emulator (ZSNES) and getting super nintendo roms such as donkey kong country, mario rpg, etc. Edited May 1, 2009 by dlegend
Zapadlo
I will most likely get crucified for saying this, but c'mon, he is young, not retarded. Ask him what he wants to play. Shooting games are fine as long as its not ridiculous violence.

I am Redbeard
Sounds like your not the gamer type... On the contrary. I've been in love with video games spanning across all consoles since I was 3, playing my brothers atari. When I was 8 I got my first personal console, a Gameboy color, and played it religiously. 10 years later I've played everything from ps2 online games back in the days of dial up to going to 50+ people lans. I currently am active in a raiding guild on Maelstrom (World of Warcraft). I just think that if I could go back I would have started later in life. Let him make the choice when he is old enough to. Don't buy him games or give him certain games to play, you don't realize how much it can change someone's life as they age. Maybe for the good, maybe not.
