Jase
I have a Mac Mini (not the new one) Recently I have found that movies look like total rubbish compared to watching them on a windows PC - I am not taking sides here I am only saying that this is happening only to me. Here is an example of Dark City on Blu-ray: Windows: OS X: Another Example in Full Screen: Do you see the difference? I am running the movies both in VLC. Now.. I have done much research about this issue and the only solution was to turn down the Gamma.. I have done so but now Movies are unwatchable. What is wrong? is it because the Mac Mini has a Graphic card with 64MB ram? - Can that really be the issue? Or is it the Video Player I am using? (I have tried, VLC, Quicktime, Mplayer & many alternatives but this issue still continues) Also could it be that the codecs I have are outdated? (I formatted last week and downloaded Perian recently) Is there anyway to turn on I don't know say More features for an LCD Monitor with HDMI? PS: Sorry for not posting the same Frame.. I don't have the Windows PC anymore.. but you should get what I mean. Edited April 29, 2009 by Jase

StandingInAlley
It could be due to color calibration also what kind of display are you playing this on ?

It could be due to color calibration also what kind of display are you playing this on ? It might be due to that, but lord knows how I can fix it.. I have tried everything with the monitor and with the system preferences. I have an LG 19" LCD monitor and my screen resolution is: 1440 x 900. thefarewellnote
I have noticed that movies will appear dark if you have your display set to TV (2:1) setting under calibration instead of the default one. Did you check that?
