Uh, Celeron. Remember I had one, back in 1996-8 (Y)

edit: Looking at the other parts and your excitement about your new PC, I can only wonder: How much you paid for it?

You OS is Vista Home Basic though, I don?t believe that can do Aero.

The graphics chipset is capable though.

Yes, watch out! Home Basic does not have Aero!

And yes, the GMA 3100 will run Aero just fine despite the fact that it does 3D about as well as a roll of used toilet paper.

If you don't use it for gamiing, then you should be just fine.

I didn't know the Celeron was still around.

For $650, I'm almost sure you could have gotten a decent Core 2 Duo rig.

The celeron 450 is based on the Core 2 architecture.

Companies just shouldn't provide PC's with a Celeron or Sempron processor anymore. It's an insult to modern technology. :p

Where I work the cheapest Desktop we sell comes with a Pentium Dual-Core, and it is around $550.

i bought it from Dell online store but.. from Dell Mexico.

In Mexico everything is more expensive

edit, i just visited Dell USA store and theres a huge difference in prices, too bad that they dont ship to Mexico, there's nothing else that i can do

thank you guys.

The Celeron 450 was only released like 8 months ago. It's based on the Core Solo.

The Core Solo, like all other Core CPUs, was not based on the Core architecture. (Yeah I know, sounds weird) :p

The Core 2 Solo which you probably mean is also not correct as it is an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) CPU based on the Mobile Core 2 CPU, the Merom (Merom-L to be precise). The Celeron 450 is based on the Conroe (Conroe-L to be precise), which is a desktop Core 2 CPU. :)
