Jeff_MSWindows
Here is an update from this morning about the RC that I figured people would be interested in. http://blogs.technet.com/springboard/archi...o-download.aspx It talks about expiration dates and installation methods among other things. Jeff_MSWindows
Is Windows 7 the first to have bi-hourly shutdowns? So the Beta will shutdown every two hours as well, starting July 1, 2009 (https://partner.microsoft.com/40084742?msp_id=Windows7). I have some messages out there waiting for a response, but my early assumption is that it is a way to force people away from using the Beta/RC and go back to a valid, full version of Windows. Minifig
Argh. I wish they'd release it a day early! :(
Geoffrey B. Veteran Posted May 4, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 4, 2009 i think the main reason for this is that after vista came out there were a lot of problems with people still using it as their main OS and not ever upgrading it to the full version. ahhell
The RC will be valid for a year so there is no point in still running the beta. Most companies put a kill switch into beta software.
