Quicktime Trailer web site very slow in IE7 and 8 browsers!

Recommended Posts

The Quicktime trailer web site is so slow when viewing with IE8 in Vista and windows 7!! http://www.apple.com/trailers/

It seens the quicktime plug in starts very slow. And also when clicking on the HD trailers you always have to click twice to open them.

Viewing the same Quicktime trailer site in Firefox or Opera is very fast and yopu only need to click once to open the HD trailers.

This has been an ongoing issue since Vista and IE7.

Microsoft please for the love of god try and fix this!!!

Viewing the Quicktime traikler web site with IE7 and 8 is driving me nuts and has been for a long time now!

Pleae don't make me switch to Firefox or Opera!

The Apple site is quite slow for me at the moment, never had an issue in the past. Takes a while to load and its unresponsive.

I am not talking about the whole apple site loading slow.

I mean the the Quicktime plugin and needing to double click HD trailer links.

The site works way better in Firefox and Opera.

I've noticed that a long time ago, but no one apple/ms are doing something to correct it. Is it a browser problem or the quicktime plugin.... who knows.

Doesn't most of the Apple site render using QuickTime? I've never had problems in the past with the site, but it seems slow at the moment.

Update: If I run the site in IE7-Mode, its a little bit quicker but not much.

Try uninstalling QuickTime, and try QuickTime Lite, the site is working really fast for me and I am using IE8.

Don't want to do that. Because I like having the Quicktime player open when playing the HD trailer links.

There's a pop up when clicking on a HD link -- when using QuickTime Lite -- that gives you 3 options (Download, Download and play with Windows Media Player, Play in default browser); as can be seen in the screencap below:

Quicktime has always been the same on Windows, Apple just doesn't get Windows. Its the same with Safari.
