techbeck
Does anyone actually use dogmeat in Fallout 3? Currently I have him in my house at Megaton. Used him once and he ended up getting killed by a couple radscorpions. Luckily I saved not to long before...

what
Mine got raped by a Deathclaw as soon as I found him. Twice. I couldn't be bothered re-loading again and got Fawkes instead.
techbeck
He died minutes after he joined, cant see the point. Well, he is supposed to alert you when enemies are near...find food/ammo...and he is a higher priority target than you are so in a battle, the enemies go after him first. Also, he can get passed locked items without a key. (like locked ammo containers) I kept him alive and brought him back to Megaton but cannot find a real use for him. Looking online it says Dogmeat is helpful when you are first starting out as he has higher HP than you do then. Mine got raped by a Deathclaw as soon as I found him. Twice. I couldn't be bothered re-loading again and got Fawkes instead. I told mine to stay back while I killed the deathclaws. And where do you see/meet Fawkes again? I freed him in the vault but havnt seen him since.

lunamonkey
Charon?? Yeah, he's a mutant. He's got a shotgun and you can equip him with grenades and armor and stuff. It's really useful to have him in battle. I got him from a bar way back. I had to kill someone to get him.
Cheshire Cat
Charon is in Underworld... You have to buy his contract from the bar owner (Ahzrukhal) of The Ninth Circle, as Charon is a slave (sort-of). What happens when you tell him you've bought him is quite entertaining

That Guass gun works great and most people, one hit kills them....or blows them off their feet which is easy to finish them off. I got so many CAPS and AMMO I dont know what to do with them...not to mention a whole locker full of weapons I dont even use.

techbeck
Hmm, this game sounds interesting :) Its a really fun game. Next perk I will get is the one that reveals all the areas on the map...that way I dont have to look at a map online. I am lvl 20 so I have to wait until tomorrow for the new DLC that boots the lvl cap to 30. It will be included in a perk called "Puppies". Yea, I dont use dogmeat at all. I took him to my house in Megaton and that is where he stays.

soniqstylz
You get Fawkes after you escape the Enclave, he's waiting outside. If you don't have him join you, or your karma is too low, then he'll be in Underworld.
