Dogmeat

Dogmeat felt like a cheap add-in to me. No competition for the Fable 2 dog. :p

When i am sick of FO3, I may try Fable 2. Heard it was from the same makers of Fallout and same style game...just a different time and different weapons and such...sounds cool. Or maybe that was Oblivion...i dunno

Fallout 3 was made by the same people that made Oblivion.

And it uses the same engine. And the way the game works is the same. And the graphics look similar.

Fallout 3 is just Oblivion with guns. Which isn't a bad thing - it's jsut Oblivion felt lifeless and was heavily scripted. All the freedom was just a farce!

dogmeat is actually an homage to the original dogmeat of the first fallout games ;)

Sadly I never even bothered getting him in the first place. Fawkes is all I ever need. :D

Agreed. His Gatling Laser causes massive damage to the enemies. However he is a little vulnerable when in close combat mode as he is then armed only with a super sledge.

Also try using Charon in various configurations. :D I gave him the T51b Power Armor, the strongest in the Fallout 3 Universe, and also gave him the Shishkebab. It was really fun, I assure you. :D

I gave Charon the Enclave Power Armor and loaded him with a bunch of weapons and ammo. He uses the frag grenades pretty well and he isnt bad with a sniper rifle either.

Can you give Fawkes anything to equip?

There was a confusion about the gender of Fawkes. And many players concluded that he was actually "she". But Bethesda head Peter Hines himself confirmed that Fawkes was a male vault resident. In fact if you manage to read the diary extracts in the vault's computers, you will find the anguish of a father over his son being taken away for medical experiments. I feel the son is Fawkes. Although now it is irrelevant because Super Mutants are generally asexual and sterile.

From my experience, you can equip Charon,Jericho, Clover and Paladin Cross. However whenever I have tried to equip Fawkes, it is of no use. he will never wear any armour except his own tattered vault suit. Regarding the weapons choice for any friend, the tactic is to give him/her weapons having higher damage points than his/her default weapon. But sadly in Fawkes' case, you have to give him something powerful than his Unique Super Sledge and his Unique Gatling Laser having unlimited ammo. I have tried and failed. :(

Of course, the Auto Axe, Mauler and Man Opener from the Pitt still remains a viable option. I will try them out later. :)

Maybe he's too big for the clothes you're giving him. He is a mutant after all right? :p
