ViperAFK
If you install the latest columns ui with foobar you get buttons in the superbar thumbnail. Pretty sweet. Hope more programs start using this api. Can say goodbye to tray icons.

flak
For people like me, who use DefaultUI instead of ColumnsUI, there's already a plugin with album art, progress bar, and playback control buttons: Grab it here: http://wintense.com/plugins/foo_w7shell

soulburner
I have a question regarding the new default UI. Are there any third party addons, like for Columns UI? I'd like to have a lyrics show component (I use it with Columns) and I don't see anything like this...

protocol7
Nice, but it needs more work. Album art worked for me the first time, but since then I just get this:
flak
Always works here, but no aero peek. Doesnt really matter to me, since what i really need are the controls.
protocol7
I've taken out the component for now because the album art isn't working. But it also added "Play" and "Preferences" options to the jumplist and start menu. How can I remove these now? I like having Foobar in my recently-used programs list on the start menu, but now it expands a submenu with "Play" and "Preferences" and I want to turn this off. zach_
I use the foo_w7shell as well after giving up on WMP because you can't even see the current song. No aero peek is a minor annoyance.
pieceofsummer
Nice, but it needs more work. Album art worked for me the first time, but since then I just get this: Is there any diagnostics in console? I've taken out the component for now because the album art isn't working. But it also added "Play" and "Preferences" options to the jumplist and start menu. How can I remove these now? You should uncheck these options in plugin settings before removing it. To all: Aero Peek will be restored in future releases. There are some difficulties with having both custom thumbnail and aero peek in current Win7. There's a workaround, but it drains a lot of CPU for now and cannot be released to public. protocol7
You should uncheck these options in plugin settings before removing it. Ah I totally missed those last night! I grabbed the component again and since putting it back it's displaying album art properly.
blackroseMD1
That's pretty awesome. I would love to go back to Foobar, but I really want the Coverflow UI, and that doesn't seem to work in any of the newer versions. :( Good to see someone besides Microsoft is finally making use of the API though.
