The Canadian
Win7U killed my bootloader, so I cannot boot into WinVHP...how do I reinstall the bootloader so that I can boot into either OS; as I have games, etc. on my WinVHP partition?!

Neroscent
Boot from the installation disk and try the automatic repair. If that fails to recover your boot loader, use the terminal from the disc and type the following: bootrec.exe /fixmbr
The Canadian
Create a bootloader entry using EasyBCD. That seems to have worked the second time I ran it, haven't tried booting back into WinVHP yet as I am still setting up Win7U. Boot from the installation disk and try the automatic repair. If that fails to recover your boot loader, use the terminal from the disc and type the following:bootrec.exe /fixmbr If it turns out that EasyBCD didn't work, then I'll try that. hynesy
I have found in the past with the Vista bootloader that is takes a couple boot repairs and reboots from the Vista DVD to get the bootloader back. I did notice a similar sort of thing when I was dual booting Win 7.
The Canadian
Create a bootloader entry using EasyBCD. Well, that didn't work and it's not 'easy', as I cannot figure out how to get it to work...it's made the loader but when I choose Vista it does the Vista loading screen then boots into Win7! Use EasyBCD in advanced mode to view the entries. You might find the paths to the loader are the same. Here is my dual boot Vis/7 setup: Windows Boot Loader ------------------- device partition=W: path \Windows\system32\winload.exe description Windows 7 osdevice partition=W: systemroot \Windows Windows Boot Loader ------------------- device partition=C: path \Windows\system32\winload.exe description Microsoft Windows Vista osdevice partition=C: systemroot \Windows Check your paths and drive letters are correct for the loaders and the OS. I have seen it where Win 7 if installed from the DVD removes the Vista drive letter then gives itself 'C' and leaves Vista as a NTFS drive with no letter - which can cause issues - you can still dual boot - however Vista needs to be mounted under 7 as a folder. webcivilian
You need to get the Windows Vista recovery DVD and recover the lost partition. Search around for the keyword on google if you dont have a recovery disk. It should be around 150mb.
