The Canadian
On the Virtual PC site, it says it's in the Start menu, well it's not there...so where is it -- not where it was installed -- and how do you start it?!
ToneKnee
Try going to your users directory and goto 'virtual machines' and see if it's in there.
The Canadian
It's not there, I even checked under AppData...so where the hell is this thing?!
dontocsata
At the very end of the installation it says that the VHD is in the install directory (C:\Program Files\Virtual Windows XP). I think you need to setup a new Virtual Machine and point it to use that VHD?
Piggy
So yeah I guess you need to install both things, and not just XPM, eh?
Antaris Veteran Posted May 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 5, 2009 Strange, I've installed XPM and there is now an entry in my Start Menu for it. Have you installed both parts? The first install is the Virtual PC components, and the second install is the XP image.
Piggy
That's what I missed. I skipped step 2.

Eric Veteran Posted May 5, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 5, 2009 There are two pieces: Virtual PC 7, and XP Mode. Make sure you download and install both of them... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

The Canadian
Well, that is f*cked up, they want you to use VPC and XPM...retards!
Piggy
XPM is just the image I think. Grats on 1k!
Minifig
Well, that is f*cked up, they want you to use VPC and XPM...retards! Virtual PC is the boot loader for VPM, the image of XP. Of .. course you have to use VPC.
Guest xiphi
Well, that is f*cked up, they want you to use VPC and XPM...retards! Um, XPM REQUIRES VPC. XPM is just the install image for XP which needs VPC for the virtual enviroment. Can't have one without the other. It even says so on the site you download it from. Windows Virtual PC provides the capability to run multiple Windows environments such as Windows XP Mode from your Windows 7 desktop.
