UncleSpellbinder
OK. So I got XP Mode up and running very quick and quite easy. Three questions. 1) I'm operating under the assumption that I can "install" programs as if it were actual XP? If so, where do they get installed? 2) I'm getting a warning that I have no AV installed? Do I need one installed? It won't recognize my Avast install on Win 7? 3) When I click "computer" in 7 it doesn't see all my media card readers and such yet they show up in XP Mode. Is this an issue for either 7 or XP Mode?? XP Mode: Win 7: Thanks in advance for any help/advice .
+Tyranade Subscriber² Posted May 5, 2009 Subscriber² Share Posted May 5, 2009 All applications you want to use in XP mode must be installed inside the XP Virtual Machine. Also Windows XP NEEDS its own Anti-Virus.

hdood
3 is probably because you have Windows 7 set to hide empty drives. XP Mode just maps all your drives and doesn't have the ability to hide those that have no cards inserted.

I didn't even know an option to hide empty drives existed in Win 7.
Cheshire Wolf
I wonder, can you install active sync under XP mode? I need to for rom upgrading. EDIT: On second thought I'll just try it myself. That's the best way to find stuff out.
