deck
I'm not crazy... I've been doing this for a few minutes. I'm running Win7 RC. Messenger hangs around on my task bar. It's minimized. When I minimize Firefox, Messenger appears! If I minimize Firefox while Messenger is open nothing happens. But when Messenger is not on the screen and I minimize Firefox (and seemingly nothing else does this) Messenger pops right up. Weird lil RC bug. Chr1zt1an
Yep, that happens to me too. In fact, thats why i change the behavior of WLM, so now it justs sits in the tray, just like in XP or Vista. Here's how if youre interested.
noroom
It's been this way since the beta. I couldn't believe the RC still does this. I hope it's a WLM/Firefox bug, and not Win7's.
ienhz
I remember posting about this since the public beta. I have no idea why this still isn't fixed... although I'm not sure if its a Win 7/Firefox/WLM problem.
deck
Cool. Thanks for the tip. Now Messenger sits safely in the tray. I bet this but is what MS would call a 'feature.' That's why it hasn't been 'fixed'. Why is it a feature? Dunno. I'm just saying.
Calum Veteran Posted May 6, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 6, 2009 (edited) I bet this but is what MS would call a 'feature.' That's why it hasn't been 'fixed'. Why is it a feature? Dunno. I'm just saying. Messenger becoming the active window whenever Firefox is minimised would never be a feature, in Microsoft's eyes, and I'm starting to assume it could be a bug in Windows Live Messenger or Firefox; not Windows 7. Microsoft must know about this bug and it has been there since the beta. I'm annoyed - I thought it would have been fixed by the release candidate... Calum Veteran Posted May 6, 2009 Veteran Share Posted May 6, 2009 Sorry... I didn't add any of the sarcasm indicators. I was being sarcastic. Yes, but I was pointing out that your sarcasm was flawed because as far as I know, Microsoft have never put in random, pointless features. Or bugs which are features...
