How to restore bootmanager

Hi guys so i was dual booting xp and win7 (7000) both are on diff hdd. To get rid of win7 i just format the hdd from xp but will this also clear the bootmanager or is there something else i need to do first?

thanks for the input bad title on my part i was asking if bootmanager was likely to screw up, didnt really matter as just formatted both before installing 7RC.

Just so you know... Vista and Windows 7 replace XP bootloader with their own which read config file from their own partition !! which explains why wiping your windows 7 partition is always a bad idea as it deletes those files and screw up the bootloader.

Indeed always run EasyBCD before removing Windows 7 allows you to reinstall what they call legacy bootloader (the XP one). And then you can delete the windows 7/vista partition.
