Something I would love to see implemented in Windows 7

Here is a screenshot of what I mean:

Now let's say I wanted to move all the files from the first Season of Inbetweeners (a brilliant sitcom), I would like to select all the folders for that series, right click on them and hit 'Rename', rename it to 'Season 1' and I would love for Windows to move all the files within those folders to that 'Season 1' folder. Do you get what I'm getting act?

It's something that I would want to see integrated into Windows, though, I've never used a tool (if there is one) that would do this for me.

We talk about the piratebay here in news even. Don't you think that makes people go on the website? He's asking nothing regarding how to pirate or anything just asking something he'd recommend windows have..... We dont know if those files are pirated and if they are... If he should be scrutinized then first scrutinize the discussion of piratebay on neowin!

Well Windows will then have tough time deciding if user wanted to batch rename the folders or just merge all of them in one.

Pretty much, I've corrected the image anyways.

This feature can be useful for other things like organising music folders and so on.

That does seem like it would be a very useful feature, but one that could be difficult to implement, especially since the user could be meaning either merging the files within the folders into one folder, or simple renaming the group of folders.

I suppose a context menu item called "merge" and then a small prompt for the name of the merged folder/location would be cool though.

A very easy thing to do.

-Type '*' on the search box in the explorer window and sort by folder name.

-Select the files and move them to the folder you like.

-Delete the empty folders.

Don't see how. Right click, hit rename, type 'Season 1' for all of the folders, and it would think that it was all the same folder. Seems pretty simple enough.

It's there but not that good. Select multiple files and right-click on the first one and choose rename. Now the first one gets the name you give it in Rename (for example MyFavTVSeries (.wmv)) and the others would get MyFavTVSeries (1) and so on... Quite annoying that there isn't a better solution...
