jbo
1. You can change the VM memory size. You have to SHUTDOWN the Virtual Machine first. Start the Virtual Windows XP. On the top menu bar click CTRL-ALT-DELETE to send the command to the workstation and select shutdown. 2. XP mode is for businesses. Forget about games, use the real deal in dual-boot if that's what you want to do. Businesses won't upgrade their current XP workstations with Windows 7 that would make no sense, they will buy new machines which meet the requirements of Windows 7 AND XP mode if they require it. briangw
XP Mode works with a couple of our programs that won't run on Win 7, however, it doesn't work for EVERY business app that doesn't run in Win 7.
BrY
I'm trying to load the scanner driver in winXP mode but I can't seem to find which unknown device is it. and why do u have to manually start the USB devices from the top menu inside winxp mode how do u toggle it on and off that lil thing on top? There must be a hot key when i hide it, i can't seem to reenable it unless i minimize and reopen it in full screen. what is the hot key to toggle, when i hide it? Thanks. And one more thing, when I start WinXPmode, it says windows integration features have been disabled. Why does it do that? And how do I make it so integration features are loaded? Is that related to me having to enable the USB devices manually on the top menu? So confused. Please help thanks. dontocsata
Well, now that I'm using 64 bit Windows 7 RC, I've found XPM very useful. Really old (I'm taking 90's) games sometimes used a 16 bit installer, which doesn't work on 64 bit. So I've tried using XPM. It's a bit slow, but it works well. So there's a use if you don't wanna dual boot.
mudslag
stupid question but I have a program I installed in XP mode, I take it the only way to access this program is loading up the VM every time I need it? Is there a way to access it directly through win7? never mind figured it out :) Edited May 7, 2009 by mudslag
