Xmouse360 (Control computer with 360 controller) *free*

Recommended Posts

Control your computer with a 360 controller!

[Requires Xbox Controller Plugged into computer (not with play-and-charge kit) and the drivers from MS installed]

Anyway, it's not completely done, the mouse isn't as good as I would like and its not customizable but it's getting their.

controls:

A Click

X Right Click

Y Escape

B Backspace

Left Trigger Alt (Must Hold)

Right Trigger Tab (Use with Left Trigger to use AltTab, tap to switch windows)

Left Bumper Shift (Must Hold)

Right Bumper Control (Must Hold)

Left Stick MoveMouse

Dpad Move Mouse in small increment if Left Stick isn't precise enough

Right Stick (press) Close Window

Right Stick (push up) maximze

Right Stick (push down) minimize

Right Stick (left/right) Restore

Back BrowserForward

Start StartMenu

**The AltTab Buttons don't work when switching to IE8, and the min max and restore don't work with IE8. No idea why***

I plan to make dpad a custimzable shortcut launcher once mouse is more precise

If I ever figure out how to use the guide button I'll switch start menu to it and make start a shortcut launcher

Customizablitiy coming soon!

I know people like screenshots before they download stuff.. but it's a bit hard to 'show' this program but heres a screenshot of the code.

Ignore the blank form, I need to hide that in the next release.

*some people may need to install http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en first*

Xpadder isn't free.

And in other news, I'm going to eat with my feet in the future just because I can!

It's actually useful in some situations. Like using a laptop on the couch or web browsing if you aren' typing much. Plus you could play games (eg gamemaker games, etc) with the controller once I add custimizng.

Does Xpadder let you assign Arrow keys to moving the Stick in a particular direction?

Still getting the same crash error after installing that and restarting. And isn't this suppose to be in the PC gaming section, if not the software one?

The thing I find strange is its a FileNotFound Error... the program doesn't use any IO...

Hmm... I'll contact MS for support. It still works fine for me.

Might have to give this a whirl, I was just thinking the other day when I was playing Wolverine on my PC (and definitely using the 360 controller) how it would be nice if I could just do some simple navigating while out of the game.

Any chance you could get the chat pad to work? There are a lot of upset people screaming for it, because of the misleading packaging, but MS haven't done a thing about it.

Microsoft doesn't expose the chatpad via XNA and Xinput has been removed from the managed DirectX SDK, so you're out of luck unless someone can find me the old Managed DirectX SDK with Xinput.

It was freeware when I downloaded it a while back. I guess they made the latest version payware. And yes, Xpadder allows you to assign keys to the analog sticks. It even lets you set off the rumble when you press certain keys, which is cool if you're playing games that don't support a gamepad and assign the rumble to the fire key. So you might want to add that ability in future versions. Chatpad support would be amazing, but I'm not even sure if it's possible without support from the microsoft driver.

1. This does allow rumble to be assigned to stuff

2. The driver supports it, XNA and .net in general simply doen't. Like I said, if someone finds me the old DirectX managed SDK with Xinput I will gladly add chatpad support

So there is no other way to get the chat pad to work with out this "old DirectX managed SDK with Xinput"?

Here are some other threads I found regarding it

http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/input-devi...i-keyboard.html

I hope they might lead to something
