ATI Windows 7 WHQL Driver

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I just saw it now

64-bit:

32-bit:

If you look at the second part of the package, the version is 8.612 and was added 5/5/2009

It definitely seems new

Go Here to select your product then proceed to download page:

I'm on Windows 7 RC 64-bit. I installed 9.4 before 8.612 was released, saw the 8.612 yesterday, so uninstalled 9.4 then updated. Both have the same issue of missing settings, especially refresh rate, which keeps reverting to 59HZ no matter how I try to force 60HZ (Samsung 2493HM DVI with proper inf installed, Sapphire ATI 4870 1GB, PCI-E, ASUS P6T chipset drivers installed).

Yes, I got the verification warning even though they are WHQL (I checked with 64-bit dxdiag).

And it looks like it doesn't play Blu-Ray, tried both 32 and 64 bit WMP 12, and Media Center which says you need software that supports Blu-Ray...

I didn't install the CCC or Hydravision as I don't need either. Mine shows 60Hz under the display properties:

I've never had this problem before, not on XP, not on Vista, with the same hardware, it's only these drivers on Win7RC 64-bit, but I've always had 59 and 60 hz at max resolution, and still do, but just can't switch to 60 hz.

Are you having problems with your monitor? If everything looks ok, chances are its just a visual glitch in the driver. Go to Windows display properties and see if it also says 59Hz.

Did you install the HDMI Audio Driver or whatever? From what I understand, that driver is not WHQL and the warning is for that driver, not the video driver itself. I personally didnt install the HDMI driver and had no warning or anything.

Yes I did install the HDMI driver even though I don't use it, and I didn't really read the full warning, thanks ;)

And I'm sure there's a driver glitch concerning some settings (first time it ever happens, my monitor is new and working perfectly, no issues whatsoever on Vista, nor Win7 for that matter). If this is not an ATI driver isuue, it may have to do with PCI-E/Chipset drivers, which I've updated from ASUS. But, no matter it's nothing major, Crysis runs at all Very High settings at 1920x1200, and videos play perfectly...

I have noticed some bits don't work too well either, it detects the clocks wrongly in my card, and changing the fan profile doesn't work (in the overdrive section)

Still no drivers for my 1900XTX. Get a grip ATI.

The X1K series are specifically NOT supported yet (per the release notes for Catalyst 9.4). This is a WHQL re-release of the 9.4 set; not a new 9.5 set (which is not due for another week). My mom has my old X1650 PRO AGP, so this is an issue for her as well (she's running 7 RC 32-bit).

legacy products arent going to be part of the regular updates from ati..only quarterly updates will included fixes to these drivers...that came from the horses mouth a few months ago
