StarCraft II Beta Will Start This Summer

Recommended Posts

Did you sign up for the Starcraft II beta? Silly question. Of course you did. Well, if you get in, looks like you won't have long to wait to get your Zerg on!

It was announced during Blactivision's conference call earlier today that the "external beta" - that's the one where you guys can play - will kick off sometime in the summer.

At the earliest, that's in, like, three weeks! And at the latest, it's still not very far away.

I hope this goes thru for sure. I have had StarCraft 2 reserved forever. I liked the first one forever.

If this is true, ILL BE HAPPY among other people who are finally waiting for a release. When the BETA starts the release shall follow soon after. Yes blizzard SOON, not LATER.

They're probably getting hammered.

This has actually been up for a day or two now. Crunchgear had this posted on their blog the other day too.

http://www.battle.net

^^ Is that the correct URL? I keep getting 403 Forbidden error messages. :s

Yes, that URL works for me.

They're probably getting hammered.

I doubt it. It's just a matter of downloading their beta opt-in program which is a mere 1.7 MB. Once you do that, you're pretty much done.

w00t blizzcon beta key ftw :)

Lucky you! I hope I get chosen for the beta.

us.battle.net

Works that way for me.

Thanks for that advice, I changed it to eu.battle.net and it worked perfectly.

Dunno what was going on with the normal URL!

I'm surprised more people aren't posting in this thread. I figured the news of a StarCraft II beta would spread like wildfire. What happened to all of the excitement when the game was first announced?

I keep getting this message after clicking 'send', despite not having any firewalls or anything blocking the software.

EDIT: Nevermind, seems like they weren't happy with Windows 7 - Changed compatibility to Vista SP2 and it worked.
