Will my computer restart ever 2 Hours...

Recommended Posts

I thought RC was not going to restart every 2 hours until March 2010?

EDIT:

+Sethos beat me to it.

You shouldn't have installed a Beta in a primary desktop.

Whys that? I have nothing special on this computer? I use my computer for browsing and watching movies.

It's 2010, not 2009.

Oh good, I have no idea why I thought it was in June of 09. lol.

I mean absolutely NO disrespect towards anyone, but why would you want to run an RC release after Windows 7 goes RTM? I for one plan to be running the RTM version long before the RC version starts to go through it's shutdown routine (assuming Microsoft doesn't hit a major snag, in which case there will probably be a second RC).

I'd love to be able to run the retail version as soon as it's available. But in this economy (I've been laid-off from my job since November and nobody is hiring at the moment) the RC will suffice until I can afford to purchase the retail version.

+1 -- though I'm not laid off -- but I know I'll keep it installed for a little while after. I do plan on upgrading before the end of the year though. :)

Also, remember that during the Vista launch, Microsoft gave away a lot of free copies to people. I'm going to wait a little and see if they'll do that this time. :)

They already said no, and it would only happen to testers, which I don't see much of around here, neither do they get anything we don't get really.

Will my computer restart ever 2 Hours..., After June 1st 2009?

I'm wondering how long I have until I have to reformat?

Your computer will restart every two hours after 1 March 2010, if you're still using the RC then. On 1 June 2010, it will expire completely.

That's pretty long though, if what Acer said is true, Win7 will be on store shelves on 23 October.

Wrong. If it's the RC (build 7100), you have until March 2010. If it's the Beta (build 7000), you have until it expires in July 2009.
