DUKE NUKEM FOREVER footage!

Recommended Posts

As IGN said on their podcast...Duke Nukem Forever can never come out.

3DRealms owns the rights to the game itself.

Take Two owns the rights to the game "Duke Nukem".

3DRealms can't go to another publisher because only Take Two has the rights to release it, and Take Two can't give development to another developer because only 3DRealms has the right to develop it.

So...it's never coming out. If it leaks, Take Two will sue the crap out of whoever caused the leak lol.

Either one can sell their rights though. Never say never.

I've honestly given up hope for this game. Even when it's out, I bet it's like S.T.A.L.K.E.R who had the technology so outdated

Thank you Lord for 3DRealms getting shut down, now I don't have to hear any more bull**** about this game coming out then not, then changing game engines and this and that and blah blah blah

It is still entirely possible that Duke Nukem Forever will be finished, as 3D Realms were just developing it. They don't own the rights to it. The would be Take-Two (people behind Bioshock, Max Payne, GTA to name but a few major titles).

The reason 3D Realms collapsed is Take-Two said they weren't going to fund development of DNF anymore, as it has taken way too long to finish. So it's entirely possible that Take-Two will find another company to finish developing DNF, as they own the rights to publish the game too.

I'm also more than positive that all this (and more) has already been said in the dozens of other DNF/3D Realms thread that have popped up over the last few days.

Take Two do not own the rights to the property. Take Two owns the publishing rights, meaning that if the game gets made, they get to publish it. Duke Nukem Forever was funded entirely by 3D Realms, which was part of the problem.

It actually looks very good. I can see they spent a lot of time on animation.

I hope someone picks it up and finishes it.

Those scenes seemed to be very familiar. The big "boss" seemed like Star Trek Voyager game, in the way it attacked. Also the "Boss" outside seemed like one of the HL2 Episodes or something like that.

Loved the chick and the finger.

In the other hand, those bosses are almost exact replicas of the original Duke Nukem 3D bosses.

Yeah, the Boss in the Sports Field is the same as one from Duke3D. As far as I can tell.

With the subsequent shutting down of 3D Realms in May 2009, production on Duke Nukem Forever has been halted. Although Take-Two Interactive still owns the publishing rights to the game, they do not have an agreement with 3D Realms to provide funding for the game's continued development

So, changes are, Duke Nukem Forever is the 2nd most expensive game, after Killzone 2's supposed $60 million budget ?!

I'm not really sure why it matters, but given that it's been in development for 12+ years, I'd say chances are it is the most expensive game. Not sure why that'd be shocking though, in my personal opinion.

GTA IV cost $100M to make.

guys, if dnf was almost complete, why would there be all those blank white levels and modelling software video captures

look at half life 2... there was video after video of finalized gameplay in finished levels, now that was a game that was almost complete...

I just watched the vid for the first time. Most of those white modelling demos were followed up with an example of them in the actual level as well. Everything I saw looked pretty damn complete to me, of course you don't know how much they are showing us. That might be everything they've done so far or there could be an almost finished game sitting there.

From what I saw though, it looks ****ing awesome, loved the character in the baddies they were animated really awesomely. God I hope someone picks this up.

Or if they don't want to ever put the money into it, how awesome would it be if they released the current work to the public so that indie teams/people could have a go at making their completed version (never gonna happen I know, but that would be so awesome)
