hdood
Has anyone else had problems with Microsoft Update insisting on installing Office updates you already have? I.e. if you have Service Pack 2 installed, it will still insist that you need Service Pack 1 (and a host of other old updates).
jakem1
No problems here. Sorry if that's not the answer you're after.

hdood
So nothing shows up on Microsoft Update if you run it after installing 2007 SP2 from another source (i.e without having installed anything for office from MU)? MU has offered me both SP1 and SP2, as well as a bunch of other updates, despite that they've already been installed offline.
M_Lyons10
Update is working fine for me with Office 2007 I haven't had that problem with any Office 2007 updates, but I did just have that problem with a SQL Server 2008 update a week or two ago. After the third install (And giving it ample time to run), it did finally log as installed and I stopped getting prompted in Windows Update. I think the update was failing somewhere towards the end of installation... Not sure though, as I'd never seen that before.

Nope; I had Office 2007 with a slipstreamed SP1 installed in 7 RC 64-bit, downloaded SP2 via WU, then downloaded several post-SP2 (note that) fixes before crossgrading to Office 2010 Tech Preview 64-bit. A shame that Office 2010 will still be in beta when Windows 7 ships (let alone when it goes RTM); I, for one, would love to see a System Builder 64-bit Tag-Team Pack of the two (though doubtless the EU would have a cow).
