George P Global Moderator Posted May 14, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted May 14, 2009 It's not like game characters mouths have the same level of detailed movement when talking like a real life person does though. Syncing the basic movements to the dub isn't that hard, just takes some time.

Rudy
does it really matter? The people who want the Japanese voices are a very small percentage
Qumahlin
does it really matter? The people who want the Japanese voices are a very small percentage Exactly. The amount of people who actually care about that sort of thing is so minuscule it doesn't matter.
NienorGT
I won't buy a PS3 over this, but I like more Jap voices subbed in Japan-style stuff.
Ji@nBing
if people want it that much then im sure it will be offered as DLC? I was just about to mention this myself, but I doubt there are even enough people that care that it would be worth the effort to them.
DELTETHISACCOUNT
What's the point of listening to something in Japanese if you don't even understand it. That's just stupid. Subtitles or not.
gunnerhkjp
What's the point of listening to something in Japanese if you don't even understand it. That's just stupid. Subtitles or not. Really? Off-topic, but I'd rather see a Jackie Chan movie in Chinese with subtitles, than in dubbed English. Even if I don't understand a word of Chinese :D
carmatic
i wish that games can be released with a foreign languge that nobody is likely to understand (like Japanese), and then use different methods of conveying the message, like subtitles or speech bubbles... after all, you already have games like Ico and The Sims where they speak gibberish and nobody was bothered about it, so whats wrong with a real language? and subtitles are soooo pre-internet...i wish that all the characters spoke with IMVU-style speech bubbles... there is no reason not to, its in style nowadays and the xbox360 can output video with enough resolution to fit enough words on screen
DELTETHISACCOUNT
Really?Off-topic, but I'd rather see a Jackie Chan movie in Chinese with subtitles, than in dubbed English. Even if I don't understand a word of Chinese :D Of course that would suck, but we're talkin FF13 here. Quality dubs.
carmatic
honestly, i really think that speech bubbles would go well its already a 3d rendered world with stylized characters, it is already familiar to us in the form of 3d chatrooms (there, second life, imvu, etc) , except for the missing chat bubbles... i think that it would be quickly accepted just because it will be so familiar to users its going to be like a big chatroom! what could go wrong?
