Sethos
Call Of Duty 7 in developmentWednesday 13-May-2009 2:49 PM World at War sequel already in production Would you believe Treyarch is already hard at work on Call of Duty 7? Course you would. According to a Treyarch designer's online CV, Call Of Duty 7 is already being worked on. Ta-da! The profile is that of a Senior Animator at Treyarch, which reveals (even though it probably shouldn't): "I am currently on my second title as a senior animator in the games industry with Activision / Treyarch on Call Of Duty 7." Not really a massive shocker that and we hope no one gets into trouble over it. Begs the question though, how much don't you want Call Of Duty 7 to be set in World War II? Or for it to feature dogs? Faulty Scarab
Wasn't there a rumor recently that Call of Duty 7 would be set in Vietnam?

+Mystic MVC Posted May 13, 2009 MVC Share Posted May 13, 2009 Wait this can't be right. How can it be in development if MW2 isn't out yet? Treyarch won't have anything to copy if they can't see IW's lastest.
Sethos
Wasn't there a rumor recently that Call of Duty 7 would be set in Vietnam? Indeed, https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=767206 This is just a confirmation that Call of Duty 7 is in production, not that it should come as a surprise to anyone. Brad.
Doesn't surprise me, each development team has roughly two solid years on each game, for example MW2 has been in development since MW1 was released, World at War was probably in development a few months after the Call of Duty 3 release. ObiWanToby
Infinity Ward makes the better games. Though I do not understand the relationship between Infinity Ward, Activision and Treyarch. Activision bought them both...

alphaomegainfinity
I don't know why but now I feel the Call of Duty franchise is going the NFS way. The same redundant gameplay and stories being woven again and again.
Colin.B
it better not be a WWII game...how about a desert storm game! Yeah but usually they make games based off of U.S military operations that were...Well...Eventful ;).
Andrew Lyle Global Moderator Posted May 13, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted May 13, 2009 Treyarch? I'll pass, no thank you :) Purchased COD3, absolutely sucked, buggy and really bad gameplay. Purchased COD4, LOVED IT! Only if people didn't cheat, I would STILL play. Purchased COD:WaW, Thought it was decent, better improvement over COD3, but falls very short of COD4. I still play time to time for something to do. I WILL purchase COD:MW2.
boogerjones
I though Modern Warfare and World at War were night and day compared to each other. Still haven't stopped playing MW, but dropped WaW after a single day.

revvo
How many Call of Duty's will they make? The newer they are, the less they last. They're just pumping out great FPS games that have a lifespan of maybe a year tops, and then they make another one for everyone to switch. The first 2 COD were the best. Everything from 4 is a noobfest

If you didn't enjoy it that's fair enough, but they didn't fail.
