Sethos
+1. GTAIV is already so boring it feels like an MMO. :pGoing back to WoW, could anyone possibly recommend me a good private server to play on? I'm looking basically for one that mimics the official servers down to a tee. (Sorry to the mods if it's against the rules to talk about them) Might I suggest the World of Warcraft thread. vincent
Guess that rules out World of Starcraft and Diablo which was on a lot of peoples tongues and minds. They can just play EvE online.

Zapadlo
Really? Last time I played WoW, the chat bar was bombarded with nothing but whining little gits or spammers selling items, which just reminded me of the main reason I'm not a fan of MMOs. The only MMO I really play is Drift City, and it thankfully allows you to filter the chat between all players on the server, players nearby, or players you're teaming up with. There is still lot of immature people and spam, however I do believe subscription reduces the overall amount. If there was a futuristic style MMO i'd be there. I used to love Neocron, but it just wasn't supported and just got dated with few users left. Planetside?
SMELTN
I have already told you guys what they are working on. I will say it one more time. Call of Duty MMO
Dotdot
Might J. You know servers are needed for MMO`s yeh? U know they fill entire warehouses yeh? U know they need to be rented, maintained and ofc staff employed to do so? There you go one monthly fee. Also if your sole purpose is to come into a thread and qq then why the heck comment, all thats doing is creating friction amongst folk who,ll defend it strongly against you. U know they need to be rented, maintained and ofc staff employed to do so?There you go one monthly fee. Not in every single MMO there is. Most of the MMOs I've played are free to play. They usually make their money through micropayments. Also if your sole purpose is to come into a thread and qq then why the heck comment, all thats doing is creating friction amongst folk who,ll defend it strongly against you. You obviously haven't been reading my other posts. I'm downloading the WoW client at the moment, and I'm gonna register onto a private server and start playing it again. greenwizard88
Hmm, now that you brought that up, it's really tough to determine what they're gonna do.Perhaps they're gonna go outside of the typical MMO box? I'm thinking an MMO entwined with a different genre. FPS perhaps? It's called Hellgate:London, and a few months before it was shut down, they finally got it together, and d*** it was good! iconboy
i think that blizzard believes that if they make another MMO using an already established universe they will be going after their already existing fanbase and possibly canibilizing WoW numbers- i think thats why its a new franchise, they are gunna take a step back and see who is playing WoW and who isnt, who played for how long and gave up and who they can rope in new that is an entirely new demo- then they will have the chance to build up a new franchise totaqlly around that. think about it, whoever loves Wow will play Wow, who ever loves the SC and Diablo universes will play those games. dead.cell
Probably against the site rules to request things like that. Google is your friend. Though, on private servers, I can assure you the game is nowhere near the quality of Blizzard's servers. Not enough people. Too much downtime. Very buggy. Enemies going through walls, and doing other sorts of strange behavior that makes it very very difficult overall. As for Blizzard's next MMO, that is something I thought about already. Their three games already cover the general area. That's unless they want to do another medieval or sci-fi type game that isn't as cartoony, and aiming for a more mature audience, with more realism added to it. By realism, I mean in terms of appearance. Before people start breaking out their sarcastic "HUR HUR, HE'S WANTS REAL LOOKING DRAGONS!" I mean, a beast that looks like a beast, a tree that looks like a tree! Perhaps something that allows you to become immersed with the environment and story, rather than click accept, kill, gather, click finish. It's already apparent to Blizzard that people obviously don't read their quests. Meanwhile, you have games like Warhammer or Oblivion that understand you and save you the hassle by just marking where you need to go. Either way, it'd be nice to see what they come up with. Perhaps they can bring in something that allows people to enjoy the story more than reading a small quest that really has no affect in the surrounding world around it. (in another words, less meaningless quests)

Im not really a fan of WoW but this would never be a reason why Im not playing atm. WoW omes down hard on spam and its not really that bad. Hell I get spam in my PMs at mmorpg.com its everywhere now. IMO I would like to see what they can do but if it seems to much like wow unless its a IP that can draw me away form DC, ST, or SWTOR then Im gonna pass knowing Ill get burned out in the end.(I like WoWs lore much better in the RTS games, books, and comics)
Sikh
While this is good and all. They need to concentrate on ACTUALLY releasing StarCraft 2 this year. They have so many titles "in development" and its BS. Give us a GAME ALREADY.

They have so many titles "in development" and its BS. Give us a GAME ALREADY. I know every time they announce a new game its pretty much COME ON. So lets see a WoW team, WoW x-pac team, SC2, D3, new mmo, and maybe a new game thats not a mmo but is next gen(I believe job postings seen showing this) Yeah they may hve mutiple divisnions but a new game of that quality takes a lot of people and Im sure they shift their top dogs around. Sikh
@Duke: I do know they have a lot of divisons, but everytime they talk about a new game, think about it? The divisons are working hard at there game atm, and then they have another one on the horizon. So wtf? Also, its like Diablo, a lot of diablo players are always saying to me "i love how blizzard can never just concentrate one 1 game, always announcing something new". You know how sad it is when blizzards own customers are like "WTF we have given you ENOUGH TIME, now give us ****ing results, even if its a beta. We need ot see more then just screenshots". So yeah, blizzard needs to start producing. I swear to god if StarCraft 2 does not have a final release date / doesnt come out this year, blizzard can kiss my brown ass, I will never buy a blizzard game again. rhz
they found a way to satisfy the casual gamer and hardcore gamer market in the same game even 'the hardcore gamers' in wow are looked down upon from other games, especially fps, its a no skill gear game, always have been. DDStriker
For me as a gaming addict WoW actually saves me a ton of money. The content in WoW is more then enough to keep me entertained while sticking to one game where as if I didn't play WoW I would be buying at least a new game every month which is easily more than the subscription. Sometimes I do get bored of it and stop my subscription for a couple months, and every time I do that I end up spending more money on gaming that I would have if I just stuck to WoW. I can understand why some people don't like the game style but it is really cheap based on the amount of content you get. wow i'd say your attention span sucks but then again you play wow...i'm confused on this one :D i've had l4d since beta and i still play it how can you possibly need to buy a game every month if you can?...ahh nvm i'm sure the answer will be more complicated then my question ;)
