picture viewer and animated gifs

does anyone know how to get the win7 picture preview proggy to play my animated gifs it's rather annoying having to open them in IE all the time this used to work for XP and Vista but win7 seems to have knackerd the picture preview

The Windows Photo Viewer on Windows Vista cannot display animated GIFs either. It was only XP's Windows Picture and Fax Viewer that supported animated GIFs.

Yeah it's pretty stupid considering that a previous OS did it by default, but what can we say?

Anyway, if you want to see the .gif's, use irfanView or, my personal favorite, XnView.

yeah i pretty much thought the same thing live is no go picture preview is a no go why should we have to use a third party app for something that been done since win95a it just like the networking in the rc, 7000 worked fine with mixed os's but no ms go and change it and now you gotta just through hoops to get it to work :pc: bah ms if i isn't broken leave it alone

It doesn't. Space presses whatever button is highlighted, but nothing else. It's stupid, as is the inability to use the scroll wheel for anything (like volume).
