Neowin iPhone App!

Recommended Posts

Tapatalk supports Invision PowerBoard and is on iPhone and Android. Wouldn't it be easier to enable that than develop a whole new app. The XDA app on Android is based on tapatalk.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that they didn't want to use Tapatalk

Neowin and the BBC are probably the only sites which don't need an app, as their mobile sites are so good.

My trouble with using the browser on other sites (which tends to be more popular for Android users?) is that it's often slower and harder to navigate, than an App.

Plus you get the unnecessary bloat of the browser menus.

Idk... Somehow I feel that an app could deliver some content even a bit better and you could add other stuff to...

I'm just doing slight dreaming here, I don't know, didn't think about it a lot, but yea, actually I'd love an iPhone app!

In the end it's everyone's choice whether they want to use it or not...

I'd love push notifications for private messages for example...

(And no, I do not want my mail inbox flodded with site specific stuff, I already have made a separate no-notification+auto-read-marking folder for newsletters... I read them when I want, not when they arrive)

Eh, the mobile site is more than enough. Just add it to your homescreen if you're that crazy about it.

I find the mobile site works great on my Blackberry 9780, Galaxy S and my iPhone however on my LG Optimus 7 it is very laggy when inputing txt.

Say if I want to write a reply to someone I have to very very slowly type in the letters as it takes about 1-3 seconds for a single letter to appear in the text box i'm typing into. It's very annoying but yeah my other devices handle it fine :)

I agree with Glassed Silver, push notifications of PM's and reply's to watched topics/forums would be nice

You can use IPB's official iphone app, it works good with the mobile skin. Has push notifications and everything.

is it listed in the directory or do we have to add it ourselves?

I don't think it's suposed to look like a webapp :/
