Yep, I've got a friend with some cool stuff too.

8056 is old; I'm running 8080. Runs like a charm. Office comes pre-installed and there's a picture of Bill Gates smiling naked as the default background.

Aha, but as you can see my screenshot was taken under OSX. This build 8056 came out of the Mac build lab and complies to a native OSX app ;)

^^Goes to show exactly how easily it is to put anything online...the most common phrase is: source/hard copy or it didnt happen. That seems to be the only way for authentication...

meh...im not installing any more leaks until a final RTM build is released. im happy with my RC right now.

I only put 7127 on for the reported game compatability fixes as I'm a gamer, which was one reason I wasn't too happy with 7100. Now that 7127 is playing everything I have and has also fixed the WMP issues I'll probably wait until RTM unless something else that I need comes along.

To people talking about mkv files, find out what the video and audio codecs really are. mkv is just a container format. In my experience, most are h.264 and aac, or perhaps ac3.

All those codecs are natively supported by Windows 7. You simply need a splitter. Install http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/ and then open the mkv file with Windows Media Player, it should work fine then.

Also, has anyone tried any punkbuster games on Windows 7?

That Office 2010 screenshot looks DROOOOOOL! Shame they ditched the lovely dark blacks with 7 and now they're reintroducing them with Office... Ah well that's what Uxtheme is for!

Office is my single most used app (after Firefox maybe), Word is constantly open over here. I've been using 2007 since the first dogfood leak, I was in the official beta (still have all the stuff on real Microsoft CD-R's and the Certificate of appreciation is on my wall) and never used any older version ever since that first leak. Simply love Office!

And oh, in codecs: FFDShow is still the number one codec thing, with it I could play everything with one single and clean install.

Juts had it installed. None big visual changes in terms of GUI as most u already know it almost reaches RTM. Only bugs & compatibility & enhancements fixed from previous builds. There's some minor changes & ill post it when i find 1. :D

That Office looks a bit...Meh. But I suppose that's not the full lot. I'm surprised that it hasn't leaked yet.

Leaked, I'm downloading it now.

Installing when I feel like it :)

h.264/mkv/mp4 play fine on mine without splitter.

Will it play mkv files without third party codecs? The Haali codecs are jerky with windows 7 for me.

Windows 7 can play MKV native pretty much, the MKV is just a container file. I.E. like a zip file with no compression features.

Just install Haali Media Spliter to handle the container, no extra codec is needed as Haali Media Spliter is (again) not a codec.

Hope this helps so you guys dont install all these codec packages...

I even stream my MKV 1080 to my xbox360 by just changeing the container to .m2ts which is done in 3 minutes. =)

The only thing i can't do is stream a 1080 movie with DTS to the xbox.

h.264, mp4 should definitely, not sure how mkv will play fine without a splitter though.
