7127 and Alcohol 52

Recommended Posts

On 7100, and a few prior to that, Alcohol 52 v1.9.8.7612 (latest version) worked on Windows 7. I have now gone to 7127 and now get the endless install loop that we used to get prior to this version and Windows 7. Anyone else experience this, and if so, found any way to install it?

Is there particular reason why Alcohol is needed?

Perhaps you might want to test PowerISO... not sure whether it runs with 7100 (myself, I am still using 7000)

I can't stand when people just assume that because you use or want to use Alcohol 52 or 120 that you are using pirated software. I OWN every game and every application I use. I want to use Alcohol 52 because I don't like having to insert my disk to play a game. Alcohol 52 allows me to play 2142 without having to put my disk in. PowerISO, CloneCD and the like do not do that.

I find Alcohol to integrate alot better and to be more robust then power iso or daemon tools for that matter.

I was also using alcohol but I found a much better program that does what I want. If all you want to do is mount iso files etc Virtual Clone Drive does it all in a light weight program.

Try UltraISO. it's not free but it allows you to see what's inside a ISO before mounting it. It even allows you to make new ISOs.

I got Alcohol 52 to install on my Win_7 64bit. I had to manually load the SPTD driver first, and then I was able to get it installed.

Virtual Clone Drive does not mount game dvds so that you can play (you still get the "insert DVD to play" message). Alcohol does....AND NO I AM NOT A PIRATE, I OWN ALL THE GAMES I PLAY. I just don't like having to pull the game case out and put the dvd in first. It's easier for me to have 5 virtual drives, each mounted with a different image of a game DVD. All I have to do is click the game icon on my desktop. No need to insert the DVD each time.
