The Sims 3 Leaks, EA Calling A Plumber

Recommended Posts

The developers develop a pretty complete game, then the business plan by EA is to take all the decent stuff out (leaving a pretty bland Sims game) and sell it later for even more money as expansion packs. They kind of deserve a ton of people pirating it with their ****ty tactics.

I've read a couple of reports that some stores have been putting out boxed copies early, no idea if that's true or not (if it is, it means that it could be anyone anywhere that leaked it, not an EA guy)

Exactly what I said. Thank you for proving me right.

Yeah, because all those 3D models, and textures for them, then the animation for them and for using them, As well as testing stuff to make sure they can be placed properly and navigated properly by the AI and all that, yeah that doesn't take time or resources at all. It actually pretty much develops itself. Sure if they could have used the resources from the Sims 2 then yeah.. but that's be stupid, then you might as wel just play the old Sims 2.

Yeah sure there's a lot less stuff in there than in Sim2 with all expansions. but There's also a lot more and a lot more well done stuff than there was in plain Sims 2. If you wanted the game to launch with all the stuff form Sims 2+expansions, then the game would be in developement for years yet, and it'd cost a LOT more when it was released.

"I heard/read somewhere" is not proof, just FTR :p

So anyone have this working properly? It hard locks up my system every 5-8 minutes or so. Have all latest video/sound drivers installed too.

(My copy came from a store putting it out early of course)

Not a problem with the game when I went to a friends to see it running. Only crashed once, and he has been playing for a couple of days. Using Windows 7 and a 8800GT with 185.85 drivers.

Odd, I'm running on Windows 7 x64 RC, using nvidia 185.85 drivers and a GeForce GTX 295. I can't get the game running for more than 5-6 minutes before the entire system hard locks.

or if you dont want to turn it totally off or want to make your sim age faster

their is a slider for that

for my young adult(yeah there is young adult and adult now) there aging was at 19 days for normal for epic it was 2xx and for the shortest setting it was 6 days

I'm on Windows 7 RC x64, GTX 260

My save game keeps on getting corrupted (Crashed during saving) , making me have to start the game all over again. Happened twice. Will wait for a patch now before playing it again. Kinda frustrating to start everything over everytime you play it

No, man - I actually like it too, might aswell buy it if there's a good reason not to "pirate".

What I meant was that it will be Sims 3 + several EP's again, just like Sims 2, I didn't mean that the game itself will be the same as Sims 2.

Although now - turning aging off seems redundant, as you can set the aging to "Epic" and it'll take quite a while for them to die.

After a while the game gets super easy, but currently there's not much to do.
