EDIT: OH, sorry, checked your link... wish it were default :)

It makes everything very cluttered. Some people may like it, but they're in the minority and are enjoying something arguably less functional. venerator
I'm with Mio on this one, there's a reason Microsoft made the glass blurry. Without it, too many elements blend together.

lunamonkey
Can I make it go black when it's fullscreen?
cropcircles
This "frosted glass" effect ("Blur") can be turned off with the program "regedit.exe" at two places in the Registry and leads then to the "fully transparent" effect ("HideBlur"): For each user individualy: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\DWM] "HideBlur"=1 (REG_DWORD) Or for all users together: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM] "HideBlur"=1 (REG_DWORD)

George P Global Moderator Posted May 18, 2009 Global Moderator Share Posted May 18, 2009 Well windows aside, the taskbar being fully transparent works for me. But that's about it, too hard to read the title bar if it's like that.
unawave
The full transparent effect was also possible in the builds 6956, 7022, 7048 and 7068 In the builds 7000, 7077 and 7100 it doesn't work. You also can use this function in the build 7100 (RC), when you copy the two files "DWM.exe" and "uDWM.dll" from folder c:\windows\system32\ of Build 7127 into the Build 7100. Whereby the file "DWM.exe" is responsible for the evaluation of the registry key ("HideBlur=1") and the file "uDWM.dll" for full transparency. In order to overwrite these files at all, you first must acquire the full access rights at these files. Then "stop the service": "Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager" for a short time and copy the files from build 7127 into 7100. After that "restart the service": "Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager" again.
Panda X
Well of course it does. It's a debugging thing. It's only in internal interim builds.
Lord Ba'al
It might look interesting for a short while, but quickly gets old, and it simply isn't practical.
