Is Microsoft's ZuneX Really Their Portable Xbox Phone?

Recommended Posts

haha i like the way this is going. instead of making thephones work faster and be able to play good games, they are makeing handheld devices be able to make calls and be phones. this is sweet... can't wait till my gameboy color gets a simcard extension and pokymon is back in style.

its not necessarily a phone just because it has a sim card... my 3g modem has a sim card which doesnt allow calls, altho it does text messages

this thing here doesnt even have a keypad or anything so i dont think it will really be doing text messages either

i think what it probably is , its just a way to get dlc over the air... all you do is press a button to allow it to access the network and maybe choose which access point you want to use if its not already configured in the sim card... could be done easily with the controls that it has

Anyone with a set of eyes can tell that's fake.

No, I've seen that Dell keyboard. It looks just like that!

But anyway I think a portable game console + phone would be overkill on battery duration :s

Portable phone + game console has been done, and it didn't work, so if this is true.....well I think we know the answer to that.

Let me start off by saying that I'm not comparing this "thing" to an iPhone, but that's a phone that plays games pretty well.

Chasethebase is surely referring to the Nokia N-Gage, which was touted as a combination mobile phone and portable game system. It didn't do either task particularly well, and failed to sell well enough to stay on the market.

Not only does it look totally fake, but the main clue is no dual analogue. If it's going to support XBLA games, wouldn't it need dual analogue? How would you play Geometry Wars with a d-pad and face buttons?

and also, this zunex cannot be implied to be a phone just because it has a sim card slot... there are plenty of gadgets out there which use cellular connectivity without actually being a phone
